I ordered the plate which came with shredded pork yellow rice beans salad and plantains. Everything was seasoned perfectly the rice was NOT overcooked. They even had jalapenos! The meat was tender so delicious! I cant wait to go back and try their sandwiches and potato salad!
I feel like a lot of people drive right by this place and don’t realize the hidden gem they’re missing out on. I always order the “Tripleta” and it’s always delicious. Only con is that it is a little on the warm side inside of the restaurant, but it’d that bothers you then get the food to-go and thank me later. 10/10 would recommend.
Amazing food, feels like a nice invite to a local Puerto Rican kitchen and wonderful staff!

Cocina El Jibarazo dePR is a very casual restaurant. The food is delicious and very affordable, with one reviewer getting a full plate of food, drinks and empanadillas for $23. It is one of the best Puerto Rican food restaurants in San Antonio, reminding a guest of back home PR. The service is great, with attentive and friendly staff members. The atmosphere is small and cozy, feeling like home. One reviewer noted the music was too loud and it was hot inside. Another disliked the strong smell of Fabuloso. Overall, loved everything. A MUST TRY.
