“Stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant and was extremely pleased. They are doing it right. When I find a restaurant that has a menu that intrigues me, I create my own rating experience and order everything. The Beet salad was awesome. The the swordfish was prepared perfectly. The ricotta cavatelli ??. The Desserts ?.
I was only in San Antonio for a short time, but this dining experience was memorable.
I'll be back to order the other half of the menu, but I was told it's a seasonal menu, so when I get back, I'm open to trying what ever the chef puts on the menu.“

“Had always eyeballed this place and got tickets as a gift from my son. From the minute, we stepped in there, until the minute we left, I was grinning from ear to ear. It is very special to be around people who genuinely love what they do and that is apparent from the minute Doc Watkins and the band step on the stage.

We were fortunate enough to catch a little bit of Christmas music and a little bit of jazz and it was all wonderful. I will be counting the days until I return.“

“Very nice restaurant in the Omni hotel on the Riverwalk. Our server was very friendly and food came out quickly. Nice atmosphere. My breakfast burrito was delicious, good coffee and mimosa was perfect. Husband had the eggs Benedict which was good. Highly recommend.“

Their bar is as innovative as the kitchen, and if you want advice on the cocktails or extensive wine list, just ask because the staff... And worth the price Please be wary of the immaculate flavors and tender brisket. You may be in danger of falling in love with a food truck! Love this And such a genius move to link up a lemonade stand I am without words for how tasty this lemonade is I wish I could have bought a gallon of it!! “Last week I was one in a group of twelve who had an amazing experience dining at Ida Claire. All agreed that the food was excellently prepared and tasty. Those of us who ordered bread pudding thought it was wonderful. The service was top notch, thanks to our awesome server King. King was not at all intimidated by the number in our party. He was personable, knowledgeable, attentive, and accurate. We would certainly go there again.“

“Hello, this post has been a long time coming and I can finally give kudos to this lovely dining experience and delicious food! My work team had our year end lunch here for about 17 people including two kiddos and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate even in a mom/pop size restaurant. We felt like one big family hanging out eating some great food (***** stew, oxtail, catfish and bomb sides). You can bring your own drink too (and act appropriately of course?). My company has also catered food with Momma Luvs and the food is just as great as dining in! Please come by and get your plate(s) and I’m sure you’ll be back because my coworkers and I have surely been returning customers!! Big up!“

“Found this place while visiting San Antonio and decided to give it a try. The reviews were right: this place if fantastic! The loaded baked potato with brisket was huge! Two people could easily share this! And while sometimes restaurants will serve up large portions to make up for quality, that’s not the case here. The brisket was excellent and the potato was cooked to perfection. The ribs were perfectly done as well. Very flavorful and juicy. We also had the Mac Daddy sandwich. Another excellent choice. Brisket and mac and cheese on a grilled cheese. So tasty! The food and service were both excellent! You won’t be disappointed!“

“So, it was a cheat day. Mr C's Fried Chicken & Waffles was singing the Sirens song in my ear. Ive never been let down here before. That cornbread is amazing!!! (4 pieces) . Fried chicken skins - this the only place Ive seen them and you meant to tell me I get a plateful of my favorite part of the chicken??!! It was on point 9/10. Fried catfish, amazingly done. A voice inside said "oh they have red velvet cake, you should try that". I asked the waitress, on a 10 scale, she says 9. I take a slice home. Oh lawd. Ive always taken up for Red Velvet cake when the haters call it bs and made up chocolate, but it didnt have any love for me. Im a fat man, I will eat anything, even bad cake - but...I couldnt eat this. It was drier than the Sahara. I left it on the counter, and saw a trail of ants later."Hmm, maybe at least theyll eat it". Upon closer inspection, they were carrying ant water-pails to it to try to moisturize it. I threw it in my disposal and my disposal filed an OSHA violation against me. Would I recommend Mr Cs Fried Chicken & Waffles? ONly on days that end in -y. Would I recommend the red velvet cake? Im going to need a few therapy sessions first. 😃Please bring back the buttermilk pie.“

“Food was amazing!!! Service was kinda slow. When the bar server would come by and check on us, she'd walk off without letting me finish a sentence or answer a question. At one point, she was already back at the bar and turned around and yelled across the room, yall just need a refill on soda.

Just a small suggestion...do not walk away when a customer is talking to you or when a customer is trying to answer a question you asked and you abruptly walk off. Its pretty rude. I've worked in the restaurant industry for decades. That is NOT good customer service.

Bonus points to the other server working that area, she came by, checked on us, and got us what we had already asked our server for. The other server's name was Alyssa. Props to you!!! Thank you for going above and beyond for a table that wasn't yours. Thats why we gave you a nice cash tip even though you weren't our server. We will definitely request you in the future.“

“While a chain, these guys are giving the "Lord's chicken" a run for their money. Like Cane's and Chick fil a had a baby, who cares about their customers more, and make better chicken.

Plus their mac and cheese is pretty good! I have said for years if a fast food place makes mac and cheese better than Chick fil A I'd never go to Chick Fil A again. Thanks to Slim Chickens I won't have to!“
