Definitely not worth $120+! Horchata tasted like the store bought horchata, awful! The enchiladas use some type of hard cheese that doesn't event melt, rice tasted bland, chileques were awful! Definitely not coming back.

Service was good, but the food is not. I’m pretty sure I got old or reheated meat in one of the tacos I ordered.

Total disappointment.

From the moment our food started arriving, everything felt off. We ordered a breakfast plate with eggs and potatoes, and instead were brought a taco. We specifically asked for corn tortillas, and our breakfast tacos came out on flour. The barbacoa tacos were cold, and the arrachera tacos were dry, completely underwhelming.

It only got worse from there. We ordered two menudos, but only one came out. The second didn’t arrive until 25 minutes later, and no one thought to inform us that they were “heating another batch.” That’s something customers should be told upfront, especially to give us the option to change our order. My husband ended up finally eating after everyone else was done.

To make matters more frustrating, we were never told that the menudo doesn’t come with hominy. The first one arrived with hominy, something we never requested as it envolves an extra charge we were not aware of, but since we are used to eating the menudo like that, we were fine with. So as soon as we noticed, we reminded the waitress that we wanted both WITH hominy. When the second bowl finally arrived without it and I pointed it out, her response was that “that’s how the order was placed.” No accountability, no effort to fix it. The person who took our order didn’t let us know, just placed the order however he wanted, and the second waitress despite being told twice already, still didn’t care.

After I mentioned that the service had been really poor, she never came back to check on us. In fact, no one did. We were a party of 8, refills and attention are expected at the very least; but not once did anyone come by to ask if we needed anything.

Meanwhile, in the room next to us, another party was clearly struggling to even get their check. One gentleman stood there waiting for a long time, completely ignored, until someone else from his group had to walk up and pay at the register themselves. It was uncomfortable to watch and honestly reflected the same lack of service we were experiencing.

I truly don’t know what was going on that day, but the service was undeniably poor across the board.

The food itself wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t good either. Just… okay. And when the service is this bad, “okay” food simply isn’t enough.

I’m visiting from out of town, and based on this experience, I would absolutely think twice before coming back. So many of these situations could have been corrected with basic communication and care. Not once did anyone apologize or attempt to make things right.

As a business owner, I understand the importance of attention to detail and customer experience. This visit fell short in every aspect, and we left feeling completely dissatisfied.

This was my first time at Vida Mia and it was a fantastic experience! The chilaquiles and fideo were excellent and came to the table no more than 5 minutes after being ordered. The staff had perfect pitch with making sure we had everything we needed while never feeling intrusive. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner as well and I honestly can't decide whether I liked the food or the staff better. Both were wonderful 😊. They also had a wonderful assortment of pastries to choose from and I had a cajeta empanada that was delicious! I would give this restaurant 10 stars if I could.

Food is substandard at best. Each table is over stocked with dairy creamers kept at room temperature, when label clearly states they need to be refrigerated. If the owner doesn't know this basic food safety measure, you have to wonder what's going on in the kitchen.
