Overpriced. Too much oil in everything. Rude Staff. Awful management. PS: Love roaches?

Gilhooley's Restaurant and Oyster Bar is a popular spot known for its tasty oyster samplers, fried mushrooms, gizzards, and shrimp po'boy sandwiches. The gumbo is just okay, but the michelada is great. The service can be a bit slow, but the outdoor and indoor seating with two bars make it a lively atmosphere. This 18+ restaurant is wheelchair accessible and worth the drive, especially for the 50-cent oysters. The carrot cake is pricey but good, and the drinks are cold. A band often plays, adding to the fun vibe. The table payment machine makes paying easy and safe. Fried & stuffed shrimp, fried oysters, and the daily special beef stroganoff are delicious. The vodka & cocktail sauce are the best. It’s not fine dining, but dining at its finest, with great food at decent prices and friendly service. Floor fans help with the heat. A true hole-in-the-wall gem. The oyster hype is real!! The Oysters Rockahooley are fantastic! The "tourist" drinks were even good. The fried platter was average at best. The batter was plain and not tasty. But strangely, the catfish bites were different and battered differently. Overall, a good time. The service was good. Some friends recommended this place and recommended to order the burgers and they tasted really good. The place is packed. No nonsense neighborhood oyster bar. Best oysters in on this side of the pacific Ocean. Bartenders are very friendly.
