North Street Curry Shop Reviews
The place is to Indian cuisine what Tex-Mex is to Indian food, and it ROCKS! Highly recommended. The staff is great and food is delicious. Try the "Notchos". Wowsers!
Unfortunately we had a horrible experience. I was very excited to try the food having heard how delicious it is (it was) but the service was horrendous. We were quoted a wait time of 30 minutes and it was about an hour when we were seated. We were waiting as a friend was arriving and didn't want to up and leave. When we finally got a table the waiter brought us water and vanished for an hour ignoring us.I feel bad for the one waiter who was running around like crazy working hard...read full review

North Street Curry Shop is a delightful gem known for its tasty food and great beer selection. The vegan Chana & Spinach Traditional chickpea curry and Saag paneer are recommended dishes that many customers enjoy. The North Street Fries and Chicken Curry Nachos are fantastic choices to pair with the North Street Cold Brew. The restaurant is housed in an old house on North Street, just a block from Hopkins Street and a few blocks from the Square. The atmosphere is relaxed, with a nice outdoor seating area and a dining room that smells of enticing spices. The staff is friendly, with some servers receiving high praise for their welcoming personalities and attentive service.
North Street is a cozy, inviting spot in San Marcos that puts a fun Tex-Mex twist on classic Indian flavors. The menu is creative and approachable, with options like curry tacos, loaded samosas, and even curry queso alongside staples such as butter chicken, tikka masala, and paneer dishes. The Curry Trio is especially worth trying if you want to sample different flavors. The best was Peri Peri plate, it had very flavorful chicken grilled with rice and grilled veg. The staff here are warm and attentive, and the portions are generous. The menu does a great job explaining dishes for anyone less familiar with Indian food.
