I have been eating Shipley donuts for many-many decades. My go/to is the Apple fritter. Shipleys has a signature one. It's huge and crusty, and wonderful.I asked for a Apple fritter upon my first visit here. Their savory kolaches are advertised containing separate ingredients (sausage, cheese, and jalapeno). Nope. It's just a sausage like the kind you would buy in the freezer section at a grocery with the ingredients in the sausage already. The breading was dry. Huge disappointment.I was going to give only one star, but gave two stars because the doughnuts are ok. If you want great doughnuts, go to Babe's. I ordered the blueberry donut (unglazed) and cherry sprinkled donut. Together it only cost me $2.19 which is very reasonable to me. My only critique/ complaint about the donuts is that they were a little on the oily side. Note, I went at about an hour before close. I prefer donuts to not be that oily. I usually only see strawberry sprinkled donuts, so I was curious about the cherry flavor. Overall it was very good.
