“Best place to camp and stash your boat under covered, locked stalls.
Rooms: Being remodeled.
Nearby activities: Fishing, nature, gators, big bass and crappie.
Safety: Campground with a lot of regulars, mostly older but a lot of kids around too. Host is always on site and area has lots of room to roam. Chiggars are BAD and snakes lurk, but the place is one of the finest "fish camps" I've been to over the past 60.
Noteworthy details: Lake is a large reservoir and full of stumps just under the water. It's a dangerous lake at times and while the bays and bayous are calm, it may be whitecapping on the open water so heavily you can't get on it to go home. You're also basically idling anywhere you are in the marked river channel. Been fishing it for 20 years and I'll fish it for another 20 god willing!“
