“We had the pleasure of staying here for a quick little weekend trip for a friends wedding. The food alone took our breath away with such detail and taste it was out of this world. The whole house was adorable and comfy and the rooms had the perfect space for our needs and was quiet. We enjoyed swinging on the wrap around porch and enjoy s’mores on the back patio by the fire. If we find ourself back in Jefferson we would not pick to stay anywhere but here! The service was polite and tentative to our needs! Pictures do not do the cutest of the place justice ! Thank y’all for the amazing stay!“

“This was our first time to 1852. We were not disappointed! We had a party of 7. Everyone loved their food and the service was totally outstanding! This will be my go to for any special occasion!“

“Fantastic food and an overall great experience at Riverport BBQ. The sliced brisket sandwich was outstanding, tender, flavorful, and generously portioned. The young lady who served us and brought our food to the table was cheerful, attentive, and kind despite how busy it was, and I truly wish I had gotten her name. When I asked for onions and pickles, she happily grabbed them, which made us feel genuinely welcomed.

Unfortunately, the cashier and order taker (I believe her name was Crystal) was the only downside. As first-time visitors, we asked a few simple menu questions, but her tone and impatience made us feel uncomfortable, especially while on vacation. After reading other reviews, it seems this has been a recurring issue.

I am still giving five stars because it would not be fair to the owner or the wonderful server we had to let one role overshadow an otherwise excellent experience. My sincere hope is that Crystal finds a position where she can be truly effective, perhaps one that does not require frequent customer interaction. That would benefit both her and Riverport BBQ.

If the order-taking experience had been pleasant, this place would be absolutely perfect. We would happily return for the brisket and the wonderful owner alone.“
