“Immediately when you walk through the door, the interior of the restaurant has one of the coolest designs I've seen, with decorative lights and a red/black theme that I think brings out the volcano concept. I've been here multiple times because I would find myself craving a good hot pot for an affordable price. Its 30 dollars per person for an all you can eat buffet including different meats, seafood (ESPECIALLY THE SEAFOOD), veggies, a variety of noodles, sauces (you can make your own), appetizers (things like kimchi), and deserts. compared to a regular hot pot restaurant where you order from the menu, this was an insane price. For context, my previous go to restaurant was Haidilao, but I would always end up paying way over 30 dollars for a meal that didn't feel filling enough. The wait wasn't that long, the most I've had to wait for a table for 3 people was 5 minutes ON THE WEEKEND. I brought along a friend who was trying hot pot for the first time and the staff really helped her out, they even gave us a paper that explains how long each item should be cooked. I've never tried the bbq so I can't say much for that portion. There is a private room that are for big parties, so if your coming with a big group theres that. The room also has free karaoke, but only for large reservations I think. It was an awesome experience and I hope others would be able to enjoy it like I do.“
“Very good quality of meats.Fast and attentive staff, very friendly and accommodating. The broth was very flavorful at this place.Be careful when ordering the spicy broth, even the mild is very spicy. This location is very clean as well. Also, get the watermelon drink!“
“Food is always excellent & we always have a good time. My daughter put me on to hot pot & it's my go to now whenever I want to treat myself. The food at the buffet is always fresh & there is always plenty to select from. The cuts of meat are high quality & taste great. The only negatives I have is feeling pressured by wait staff to get more meat while myself & my party are still working on what we have. Again, pressure by waitstaff to flip the table asap when I am still eating or digesting.“
“I absolutely love this place!! The fish maw broth is sooo creamy and savory and absolutely delish!! The quality of the meat is great!! The first time we went the veggies were lacking but the other times after that it was perfect!! The super fruit tea is out of this world!!! I would take home a whole pitcher every time if they would only let me!! Service is always great! Staff are friendly and go above and beyond! I will continue to go to this place!“
“Victor was very attentive. Not only was it my first visit but I was alone and he made both experiences enjoyable. There was another male waiter who was extremely helpful as well but I didn’t catch his name. 4 stars because I personally would have liked more veggie options but their buffet is loaded and everything was tasty!“
“The new AYCE menu is a sweet deal and offers super high beef while costing a fair amount of money. Without the AYCE option, it ends up costing too much to feel full here. I like the location being away from main Chinatown area as it has become too crowded and stressful on Bellaire. Would return to Shabu Squared as I was very pleased with the quality and service!“
“order clear soup pot + lamb scorpion + white-cut lamb shoulder, with cabbage + radish + red bean cake + naan, they are all very good, my favorite is the white-cut lamb shoulder, fresh and mellow, the ratio of bones, meat, fat and tendons is just right , I would like to try the roasted whole lamb if I have the chance.“
“I enjoy the concept of this restaurant: you eat your meal of meat/seafood stew and then they add water and you can add your sides of additional meats and vegetables to create a hot pot.I shared my shrimp dish (medium) with two others. I think the medium size can be shared between three only if you order at least 4-5 sides later for the hot pot. The shrimp dish had at least 12 large shrimps which wasn't bad. I wish the shrimp was already peeled because it was difficult to peel since it was scorching hot.Our friends ordered the beef brisket which was delicious and easy to eat (no bone or peeling necessary) so I'd recommend that if you come. I thought all the dishes would be comparable but differ in the meat we ordered but our shrimp dish seemed to lack potato and we wish that it had been present to balance the other intense flavors of the dish (onion, ginger, bell peppers, shrimp). As for the sides, the dumplings (6) did not have much filling, they weren't worth it. I really enjoyed the chiba tofu, the enoki mushroom, blood curds. We also got glass noodles, potato, corn on the cob, and Chinese cabbage which weren't remarkable. Also to note, despite reiterating that we wanted our dishes to be mild, both of our stews ended up being medium spice level unfortunately.Overall, I really enjoyed the quality of the ingredients and the natural flavors of the dish and hot pot!Side note: adding rice is an additional $1 per bowl which I wasn't a fan of.Service was alright- hot pot is labor intensive and the workers had to heat up / turn off the burner and pour water into the stew to turn it into hot pot for each table so I can understand why the staff was busy and may not have been as attentive as we'd like. While we had to call the waiters several times, either to refill the water in the hot pot, to give us napkins, or to give us the bill, they eventually got it done with a great attitude.Overall, it's a decent place for hot pot! It's not the cheapest nor the most expensive place ever but the ingredients were great quality and the dishes were very delicious!“
“First, this might be the best hot pot in Texas. The broths are so flavorful, the meats & veggies are super fresh, and DO NOT skip the noodles that are made in-house Second, the service and staff are impeccable, friendly, and knowledableThird, the venue is just gorgeous! I feel like I’m in a Studio Ghibli movie every time I eat hereI’ve been three times already and don’t plan on stopping!“
“It was wonderful.Lots of fresh ingredients, nice service. We were constantly asked if something was missing or if everything was OK.Large selection of meat, fish and vegetables. Ice cream was also available for dessert.Drinks and tea were refilled.Very clean and great facility.Thank you.“
“My experience at One Hot Pot and Grill was fantastic! The chicken feet were a delightful start, and the hot pot was simply divine. The grill options were amazing, offering a delightful array of flavors. I wholeheartedly recommend this place for an incredible hot pot experience. A must-try for all food “
“the culinary journey is nothing short of extraordinary. The rich, bold flavors of their spicy hot pot creations leave a lasting impression, and the attention to detail in both presentation and service sets this establishment apart. Each visit is a delightful exploration of Sichuan cuisine, making it a top-notch destination deserving of its five-star status.“
“This Korean eatery, let me tell you, has always been our number one choice! Can you even fathom it? It's also the ultimate Korean restaurant chosen by my child! It has become an integral part of our existence. I mean, who would have predicted? The astonishing range of accompanying dishes they offer is incredibly remarkable! And the cherry on top? The cost is extremely budget-friendly! I'm at a loss for words, to be frank.“
“This new place is nicely styled inside with your own hotplate on table. Service was good, but wish service was a little more forthcoming with how long to cook the noodles, we had it at level 15, it started boiling but the noodles needed another 4-5 minutes more than we thought. Once they were cooked in the broth, so flavorful and easier to eat. The smashed cucumber starter was delicious. We got the chicken and ginger garlic hot pot. Beware, there are bones in the chicken, but really delicious. A solid 8 out of 10 of enjoyment. Just wish we had had more guidance on the meal.“
“Tried it for the first time yesterday. The variety of food was good, except for the sliced meat --- only lamb and beef to choose from, wish they had pork belly as well. Their sesame oil was quite good. There is also a seafood promotion where all the snow crablegs and raw oysters are unlimited at $10 each. But the whole table has to get the same promotion. Some items, such as spare ribs and cow stomach, need to be pre-cooked longer.Soda is by can and not from a dispenser, so no refills. $1.99 per can is outrageous. After we ate it for lunch, my mouth was filled with MSG all afternoon long--- must be quite a lot in the broth.“
“I love the food and the bbq was so good its better than texas bbq. I love the hot pot as well it was so yummy. And our server Eric was very kind and attentive and he even made us some yunmy sauce for us to eat. I would recommend you go here and i will definitely come back here to “
“I absolutely love the buffet addition. I haven't been here in a few years, so that was a pleasant surprise. AYCE is very reasonably priced, and there are plenty of options to choose from. I will say service was a little lacking this recent visit. Our waiter only checked on us once. He was in behind the soda machine on his phone everytime I saw him & i feel his attitude was pretty dismissive to us. It was my partners first time coming here, so it would have been nice for him to explain how everything works, like they usually do, but that didn't happen. I saw other tables getting refills of water by their waiters, but we were never once offered any. We had to get up & go to the drink station ourselves for refills. Either way, we had a great time & look forward to having their delicious Hotpot again. The broth was fantastic as always, as well as the cuts of meat.“
“The food here is average. The portion of the food is big, but the tables are really small. After three dishes, the table would be space less. It's pretty busy here. Which waitress would ignore you from time to time. Overall, their noodles and portage would be a better choice than ordering their dishes. If you don't know what to eat while you are passing by, you can give it a try.“
“The place itself is super cute and buzzing with people! The atmosphere is calm and the waitstaff is super friendly and helpful when it comes to answering questions about the menu. I wasn’t super impressed by the noodle bowl I ordered however the drinks they had were 10/10. I do think that if I go back I will definitely try to aim for the hot pot instead!“
“I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. There was quite a few tasty dishes.1. Fried crispy pork. This was tasty with a nice crispy outside and soft tender inside. Pork flavors come through and it’s nicely flavored.2. Fish and pickled cabbage noodle soup: the soup is mildly flavored, the fish is silky and pickled cabbage slightly tart. It’s not bad but I prefer it more tart.3. Beef belly hot pot noodle soup. This is quite good with strong flavors in the soup. Tried with medium spice and it wasn’t too spicy.4. Wonton soup: the soup is mild but the wontons are good. You can taste the seasoning and meat when you bite into them. Most wontons are tasteless but not these ones. Would eat these again.5. Soft tofu with red bean is really good. Sauce is like a caramelized taste with mung bean powder. Very tasty.Overall, a decent restaurant and worth making this a staple for those that enjoy noodle soups.“
