“I been here many times and it still leaves me with a happy tummy every single time The lunch specials are a great deal and the servers are very nice and attentive. Will 100% recommend if you're hungry while in a lunch break. Not only you can take out but dining in is very quiet and peaceful.“
“I was passing by for lunch and he said he was a Sichuan chef and wanted to test his skills. Two people ordered a beef noodle dish and mapo tofu. Mapo tofu has no meat filling, the tofu is not tasty enough, and the cooking time is short. The beef noodles are tasty enough and the spiciness is OK. The overall level is pretty good.“
“I've been to every Mala Sichuan Bistro. I think this is the first one, and it's my favorite. I'm always blown away by the food at every location, but this one is, far and away, the best one. If you like the mouth numbing Ma feeling, go for the dry pot beef or the crispy chicken. If you're more of a fan of Americanized Chinese, try the Mongolian beef.“
“I enjoy coming to eat at MIAN. It's a comfy little spot and there's a variety of noodle dishes that I like to try. You can order by QR code by bringing up the menu. I recommend the beef noodles! I've been coming here for years and I plan to keep doing so.“
“Had a hankering for fried rice. The rice was decent, kinda bland but still edible/good. Never had scallion pancakes before and that was pretty good as well. The only thing I noticed is my total. I paid $20.37 for a pickup order. But on the receipt upon receiving my order was $18.47. So that sends off red flags in my head. Probably won’t return because of that.“
“(don’t mind me digging in before i took a picture) the actual plates are so cute; they spent money on cartoony cat bowls and the actual food was amazing. i don’t eat much normally but i finished all of my food in one sitting that’s how good it was!! i got the curry chicken ramen it was so filling and had lots of flavor and extras in bowl; it wasn’t plain at all. this place is completely underrated; i went in on a saturday afternoon and i was the only person there!! more people should be eating here. the service was obviously amazing there was only one person working but he made sure i was attended to“
“the culinary journey is nothing short of extraordinary. The rich, bold flavors of their spicy hot pot creations leave a lasting impression, and the attention to detail in both presentation and service sets this establishment apart. Each visit is a delightful exploration of Sichuan cuisine, making it a top-notch destination deserving of its five-star status.“
“First time here today, very authentic flavor. Had 20 Lamb Skews, and 10 Beef Skews. They were so good that we only remembered to take a picture after the meat are all gone!!! Very cool vibe. The service was fast, and the skews are tender and full of flavor. Will definitely come back again.Had to park a litter further and walk over, but it was all worth it.“
“As one of the most famous hot pot chains out of China, I feel strongly that MaLuBianBian's presence alone legitimizes Chinatown as a true enclave of the city. Meaning "side of the road" (马路边边), this Sichuanese (#1) inspired spot brings a slightly unconventional approach to the thriving all you can eat hot pot scene. The eclectic decor is meant to mimic the Chengdu food scene with the glow-up Chinese character signage, colorful furniture, and artistic murals. Even the music has been on point (#2), as well as the ventilation for the mugginess. Visually, the place is quite unique relative to its competition and definitely has the look and feel down, 100%. To get food, it's mainly self-serve. Instead of a buffet spread , it's freezers and a sauce bar. The veggies and meats are all laid out for everyone, so there's not real choosing wisely. Truth be told, the broth selection matters more than the foods that they have laying out. The price now is $29 for the whole experience and I'd recommend ordering the crispy fried pork and brown sugar rice cake from their snacks / appetizers. The service could be better and by better, I mean faster and more polite. They're all Mandarin speaking and a little slow on getting everything including waters and napkins. It's not much to ask for when everyone is serving / cooking everything for themselves. There's plenty of parking in their shared lot. They accept credit card but definitely prefer cash. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a unique hot pot experience in the heart of Chinatown. __________ (#1) If I'm not writing Peking for Beijing, I'm definitely not writing Szechuan. (#2) And sometimes dominated by Jay Chou.“
“First time ever coming here. We ordered takeout and picked it up through the drive thru. Staff was very nice and inviting. I ordered the special lo main, general tso, beef with garlic sauce, shomai, and dumplings..as well as egg drop soup and wonton soup.. and they ALL tasted amazing!..The food was flavorful and didn't need any additional sauces. The dumpling sauce and hot oil were also on point. I will definitely be going back for my last minute, fast food choices! It was very easy to order online and it was ready in 15 min!. Highly recommended!“
“Amazing tastes. Many options. All halal options. Portion size is good. Prices has gone up a bit since last year. Average cost is $20 per person. After several years, now they are back to offer dine in option. However, they need to take more care of their tables. The restaurant looks old and feels old. Bathroom is not clean.“
“My wife and I became regulars here a couple of months ago and we can’t say enough great things about the staff and ownership. I love the Kung Po Chicken and my wife loves the Pineapple Chicken. The Hot and Sour soup is one of my favorites. The food and service are consistently great.“
“PLEASE READ THIS. I need to make it clear that some of the idiots who are reviewing this place are clearly uneducated/uncultured people. They don’t understand the concept of authentic “mala cuisine” which encompasses the numbing sensation in your mouth due to Sichuan peppercorns.I never make reviews, but I need to make it clear that this is one of the best food I’ve ever had in houston, being a local resident my entire life. For all the people who said this was “disgusting”, I’m sorry you don’t understand how food is intended at certain cuisines. But your uneducated reviews are harming the potential for GOOD cultured food. Please educate yourself before throwing reviews that can harm local businesses.“
“I just came to Houston and ate Little Bear's Sichuan cuisine in Chinatown, which was very good. This time I went to PARKnSHOP and saw that it was also available in the supermarket, so I came here for lunch. The waitress is very enthusiastic and takes special care of children who don't like spicy food. She is very considerate. The food is also very good, everything I ordered is delicious, it is quite authentic Sichuan cuisine.“
