We had no expectations going in as we had never dined there before. Our server was so sweet. We ate in the bar. Started with deviled eggs. they were ok. Drinks were small pours. Very. A double was a single. I got the sea bass, it was good. Steak was good. Ordered coffee after. We were told they were out. Banana pudding for dessert. It was good. we will go back and now we know what to expect. Just thought it was a little pricey. Loved the venue.
Meh. Aside from an exceedingly charming waitress (Jenn?) nothing here was special. The building has some character, but the cinema size screen showing Wheel Of Fortune gives nursing home vibes. Great French 75, mediocre wines. Great onion rings, under seasoned fries, sandwiches and salads that were boring and tired. It's fun to eat downtown, but I wouldn't eat here again given a choice.
My wife and I especially enjoyed the fried mushrooms. My grilled salmon was a little bit salty, but otherwise well cooked with a nice outer crust. My wife thought the chicken alfredo was ok. Not the best she's had, not the worst. However, it was served almost boiling hot. We both enjoyed the New York cheesecake. The service was very good, and the atmosphere is warm with lots of rich wood finishes.
