“after moving here from California 6 years ago it's been very difficult to find a restaurant that serves a good menudo. I've tried many many places. yesterday my husband picked up my menudo order from El Jilo, brought it home, and I finally found it. you make the best menudo. so flavorful and full of tripe, just delicious. in addition, fresh homemade corn tortillas. you can't beat it. will be coming back for sure.“

“Great tortillas as the name implies. You can by the masa ready to go, or the tortillas already cooked, but my favorite part is the tamales 🫔 😋. They have a great variety, mild and spicy chicken, beef, pork, and they have spinach and cheese and cheese jalapeno. There is red and green salsa and chips. Everything you need for a get together.“

“Little family run taco shop. Doesn't look like much, but there is actually a taco shop in the back of the house. Best tacos you will find in Tyler, Texas.It is only a to-go place, also easier to pay with cash versus trying to pay with a debit card.“

“I will drive fom Dallas just to eat a dish called aporrado ( eggs smothered in a tasty sauce with dry meat . traditional dish of southern part of Mexico. Menudo is delicious. Aguas frescas are refreshing. This place sells awesome fresh tortillas.
Staff is very attentive and curious.

“I have always been like the biggest Don Juan’s fan (On the Square) but today was above the bar! Omar was so helpful in recommendations but also my server soulmate 😍 He was always attentive but not annoying helpful but not trying to tell you what you want. He just knew! Best food and service is always phenomenal but today Omar made it uberphenomenal! ❤️ Ps the Super quesadilla was ahhhmazing! And of cour Don Juan’s queso and bread!! ❤️“

“I was just passing through and thought I’d stop by for a genuine margarita and large appetizer. It was great! I sat there really impressed and read a few reviews as I rarely post reviews because everyone’s opinion is different. If you’re going to venture off the beaten path don’t be so picky; enjoy the experience. If the oysters are bad simply bring it to their attention and I promise they’ll come make it right. PEOPLE, y’all don’t have to review only the ones less than perfect. Are YOU anywhere near perfect? Gods listening.“
