They only offer a fraction of what's on their menu. The staff doesn't speak English and cannot answer questions about what is available. The food at the buffet looked and tasted like it had been sitting out a while. The shrimp was good but nothing other than that.
Honestly if I could give -5 stars I would. The food was not labeled so you didn’t know what you was grabbing. The food was nasty. The shrimp was very spongy. Everything was mildly warm sat down with our first plate and the fire department was leaving the kitchen!😳 the drinks were in a can and not cold. There was no bottles of water. Kickin Seafood & Sushi Buffet is an all-you-can-eat restaurant that offers a variety of freshly cooked seafood dishes. The buffet includes options such as fried rice, chow mein, and Cajun-style seafood that can be customized to your preferred spice level. Drinks, including Thai tea boba, are self-serve and bottomless. The "Choose your own boil" feature allows customers to select their own seafood items for cooking, with options like shrimp and mussels available.
The restaurant's atmosphere aims for an edgy vibe with signatures and graffiti on the walls, creating a comfortable dining experience. Service is friendly and helpful, and food arrives quickly to the table. While some customers may find the frequent reminders of the crab's price to be off-putting, the overall dining experience has been praised. The drink selection is limited to canned options, with no fountain drinks or alcohol available.
The quality of the food has received positive feedback, with customers particularly enjoying the perfectly seasoned seafood and generous portions. The mussels, in particular, are noted for being cooked just right. However, some items may appear subpar, and the "Choose your own boil" feature may have an overpowering sea smell. The interior of the restaurant shows its age, but customers are willing to return if they do not fall ill after eating there. Prices are reasonable, with dinner and drinks costing around $30 per person, making it a hidden gem for seafood lovers in Layton.
