“Maddox has been one of our favorite drive inns for many years. Love the Steak sandwich. we also order the chicken basket. Today the service was great the steak sandwich was wonderful, however we found the chicken breast came in much smaller (1/2) the usual size. Our friends had told us this what they experience as well. Prices have gone up like everywhere else, but chicken was a disappointment.“

“I cannot sing the praises of this place enough. So. Dang. Good. Burgers are pretty basic but really well done. Fries are great, love the season salt ones. The onion rings are some of the best I've had. Their root beer is so so good (very soft flavor). Shakes are also yummy as well.

And they have small kid sized burgers that are just a small burger! Like my kid is getting a good quality smaller version of what I ordered and not some weird "kid menu" attempt at a small burger.

Prices are all solid and so reasonable. The outdoor seating is picnic tables under a covered area and they're fairly standard. You can also be served in your car. The staff are all really nice.

Basically if you need a solid burger and fries. Come here. It hits the spot perfectly.

Kid-friendliness: Menu has options that are perfect kid sized. (My 2 yr old is perfectly satisfied by their Lil Cheeseburger) They also have a mini picnic table in their outdoor seating.“

“For being a Monday morning the crew was very cheerful, also very attentive, and gave great recommendations! It was busy with only 2 server's but they were on it! Refills, checkins, and the food came out fast and tasted incredible! This was our first time in and these ladies made a huge impression- we might just be back for dinner ?“

“My husband and I stopped at Bert's Family Cafe and Grill on 9/15/2024 for breakfast. Service was warm and inviting and fast! I had the sausage & biscuits, hash browns, & poached eggs. “Stumbled upon this quaint bar on our way back to civilization. It is a bar, but they have great food and good service. It took a while to get our server to order food and then to receive food because of the business of the bar and her being all alone, but when we did, it was delicious and wonderful. The burgers were juicy and flavorful, paired with simple Lay's potato chips, but they fit the bill and were great. A local band filed in soon after and played a set of songs and added to the feel and atmosphere of the place. It was crowded, being quite small for a band, a bar, patron tables, and a couple of pool tables. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed this nice place.“
