El Viroleño has a lovely staff of bilingual (English/Spanish) women who were kind and polite. The restaurant was beautiful with rich colors and a cozy, peaceful vibe. The menu is bilingual and varied with delicious dessert options. The service was fast, the food was very good with large portions with affordable prices. Our party ordered frijoles con queso pupusas which were beautifully plated atop a bed of shredded cabbage with a delicious sauce. There is limited street parking...
We were craving pupusas, and we wanted to give this place a shot. The place itself did not look that pretty, but from my point of view, it looked clean to me. At first we were the only ones, so I was getting worried, but when we placed our order, I saw the lady started prepping them on the spot, so I was impressed, and they tasted so fresh. The plain banana tasted good, and so did the corn tamale.
I love the taste of homemade traditional food. If you are in a hurry, call and place your order ahead of time because the pupusas are made to order, and they take time to properly cook. Once you take the first bite with the melted and abundant cheese, you'll want more!
