SO YUM. Big fan of this place
Really good popusas, best ones I had here in utah so far!.
Everything was homemade style. Fresh handmade tortillas, pupusas, and even the horchata was made from scratch. You can taste the quality.
They didn't clean the meat right way.
While Café Guanaco’s food might be passable, the treatment we received and the shady practices we experienced were absolutely not. My family and I came for a meal but left feeling deceived and unwelcome, despite the restaurant eventually refunding us after a long and frustrating back-and-forth.
Here’s what happened: we decided to buy a toddler dress marked at $8. Before ringing it up, a staff member took it to the back, only to return with the price mysteriously raised to $10. They assumed, it seemed, that we wouldn’t notice or wouldn’t question it. We checked other dresses, all still priced at $8, and called them out on the switch.
After considerable discussion and with a lot of resistance on their part, they eventually refunded the entire charge on our card. However, the experience left us feeling targeted, both for our appearance and our lack of fluency in Spanish, as if they assumed we wouldn’t stand up for ourselves.
Despite their eventual attempt to make things right with the refund, I would never recommend Café Guanaco. The initial deception and the way we were treated aren’t things anyone should have to put up with. For a better experience with authentic food, I’d highly recommend Juanita’s on 271 W and 900 S instead.

Pupusas were very good. Each was stuffed with beans and cheese. Salsa was spot on. The place was a bit of a hole in the wall but food was delicious.

The food is delicious, only the service is very slow. I could tell that the lady was new and that's why I was patient, but there are people who aren't not patient, but on my part everything will come. Maybe the next time you see her coming, she will already have more experience and will be faster service.

ESTE LUGAR DEFINITIVAMENTE NO, ES 100% SALVADOREÑO. CON SÓLO VER LAS FOTOS DA " ASCO".
DEFENLY THIS PLACE ISIN'T SALVADOREAN. BY LOOKING AT THE PHOTOS. IT LOOKS " SO GROSS"
IF YOU'RE NOT SALVADOREAN, AND YOU LIKE " PUPUSAS" DON'T EAT AT THIS PLACE.
I. APPRECIATE YOU LIKING OUR FOOD SPECIALLY " PUPUSAS".
BUT NO, DON'T EVEN BOTHER WITH THIS PLACE..!!
ASK, OR FIND OUT FIRST..BEFORE THEY TAKE YOU FOR A RIDE..!!
At first I thought the place was a bit sketchy but the inside is actually quite lovely. It is unapologetically Latin American. The food was also incredible. The fries were freshly made, the tortas were also fresh, and the mango juice was made in house. Everything was made from scratch.
Tamal was cold and food was plain not a really good flavor, the the Oaxaca horchata was great so rich flavors
