We only went for drinks and the servers were patient, fun, and knowledgeable of the menu. The drinks were unique and great! Prices were a bit up there but honestly worth it for the quality and experience.

It was decent food. Not superb but not lacking. I think the atmosphere was great. Not a place to hold a private conversation. Drinks were tasty. It was above mist hotel lounges for sure.I ordered chocolate cake to go and I am so glad I did!

Very cool old school hotel bar vibes. Halloween decor was a nice touch and drinks were tasty! The hotel is beautiful to walk around even if you aren’t staying there!

This place is such a hidden gem... to the extent we had no idea it existed until we were tipped off! When the bar at the Laurel was overcrowded with nowhere to sit (and you can't take drinks back to your room because Utah), the bartender recommended checking out the Gibson. I am SO glad we did. From the moment we walked in (and it was blissfully quiet and empty), it felt like we had stumbled into a private club or something. The place exuded class and elegance, but with a speakeasy vibe. I had a kicking Manhattan, and the bartender was so awesome and showed me the type of vermouth and bitters they use. My only regret about this place was that it closes pretty early (for a bar).

My friends and I spent the night in the Grand America hotel to celebrate. We wanted to visit the bar on the main floor and came upon the Gibson. The Gibson was open until 12AM.The bartender promptly tells us their last call is in 5 minutes (at 11:20), so we only get one drink to be polite. They questioned and made rude remarks of whether we were of legal age and if our staying here was legitimate. They continued serving people after the “last call” statement until their actual closing time.We just wanted to check out a new bar and get a few drinks, instead we left feeling very violated, out of place, and uncomfortable with our stay here.Terrible customer service, won’t be back anytime soon.

*Responding to Julia Larsen’s comment.I was also in this party, after communicating this with the front desk, Brittany ensured we were compensated with parking card vouchers for everyone in our group. It was unfortunate this happened however they handled it gracefully! Thank you Brittany.

Classy laid back atmosphere where you can have a drink and chat about whatever while sitting in a comfortable chair or sofa. No loud music like a dive bar or gastro pub. Drinks were good to me. I tried their house Old Fashion and Manhattan. We didn't order any food. Visited for a night cap after dinner. Service depends on who's working. I visited twice. The first visit had some slow service, but the second one was great.

Quiet lounge. Great burger.

Hidden gem in The Grand America hotel. Good cocktails, a small menu and a wonderful upscale lounge environment.

Comfortable seating, classic cocktails, beautiful turn of the (19th to 20th) century decor. Relaxing and fun with delicious food.

Don't order the Beef Skewer- big time ripoff!!! $9 for two skewers comprising a total of four rolling dice-sized cubes of beef, alternating with tomatoes!! Where's the rest?!??

The Gibson Girl's Lounge, as it is named on the placard just outside the entrance represents a step back in time to an era when one could sit back in a deep overstuffed lounge chair and enjoy a traditional cocktail in a setting that some might describe as looking like their grandparents house. That setting, combined with access to a large wall-mounted tv monitor were the exact features that drew me to the Gibson Lounge to watch the Utes play in the Alamo Bowl. Despite the outcome of the game, for the first hour and a half the venue seemed to be just what I had desired, a nice comfortable place to watch the game in a venue other than a bar with metal stools and sticky tables. Our server seemed to be quite competent, with only three or four tables having been occupied on the lounge. We ordered food from the hotel restaurant menu, which was presented as an option to the more limited bar menu. After an appetizer of meatballs which were served in a hearty tomato sauce, we each ordered our main course dishes. A friend ordered the mushroom ravioli, my wife had a Genovese gnocchini dish and I had the risotto fruit di mare. My friends ravioli looked to be hand made, but in my (and his) estimation, the serving size was underwhelming and did not meet his expectations. My wife said her gnochetti dish was also less than impressive; although the serving portion was adequate, she said that the flavor was bland. And as for my risotto, the rice portion was creamy and tasty, but the tomato based frutti di mare sauce and limited seafood items served over the top of it wasn't as good. There were three types of seafood in it that seemed like a grab bag from other dishes in the menu, shrimp, squid rings and little chunks of dry fish. Not very impressive. The food was disappointing but the drinks were pretty good. I especially liked the old fashioned cocktail. As the lounge began to fill up, the service began to decrease dramatically including the delivery of drinks. And to get a check and validation proved almost impossible. There was only one server handling a nearly full establishment with a bartender behind the counter at the rear. The coordination of the staff seemed to be lacking any synchronized approach and the whole experience became quite stressful, which certainly is not the reason I want to go to a bar. And,, based on its location in Utah's finest hotel, this should have been a five star experience. But sadly I cannot report that it was anything but mediocre. I hope I can revisit the Gibson Lounge with a different result in the future as there just aren't many classy bars in Utah anymore.
