Akeno Sushi Bar and Thai Alexandria

If in the Alexandria area give @akenosushibar a try! Super kind staff from the door and through out our visit! The space was very clean, trendy and inviting! They have daily happy hour (yes daily, lol) so we tried the pork gyoza (4.5/5) shrimp shumai was our favorite (5/5), crab rangoon (3.6/5) and the fried tofu was our least favorite and I’ve had my share (2.4/5) but the accompanying sauce 5/5! Mimi rates their salmon sushi roll 5/5 super fresh and well prepared, iykyk! The mojitos were a bit more sour than we’re accustomed but definitely had the kick, lol (3.7/5) and the whiskey sour nice and strong (4/5). #birthdayshenanigans #sushi #alexandriava

Amazing date night! The staff was super friendly and attentive, the chashu roti roll was delicious, the sushi was fresh (uni was so buttery)...and while we mostly ordered nigiri this time, we cant wait to come back to try the specialty rolls.

We love Akeno! Have been for happy hour many times but also go here often with the kids and they’re so so friendly to them! Service is great, most everything comes to the table quickly and we’ve never been unhappy with anything we’ve ordered. Great vibes and good people!

This is a wonderful restaurant serving excellent sushi and Thai dishes. It is a family favorite! The service is top notch and they treat you like family. We mostly dine in but have good experience with takeout as well.

We've searched a long time for our regular sushi spot in the area and after trying a sushi/sashimi combo everywhere nearby we kept coming back to Akeno. The matcha sour is a perfectly balanced cocktail, and typically we get two premium nigiri with a bottle of sake. The fish is consistently good quality and everything in the assortment is great. Mango sticky rice is also a consistent hit.

Love Akeno—so lucky to have this great neighborhood sushi place. Ordered takeout this time but have dined in often. Sushi is always fresh and the kitchen dishes are always delicious!

My husband and I came here for an early dinner date and this place did not disappoint!! From the moment you walk in every is perfect! The service was outstanding on all levels! We ordered the crab Rangoon and hot sake to start and it was delicious!
Then a chicken ramen. Unfortunately the ramen missed the Q. The flavor was just not there compared to other places we've visited. Even the spicyness was absent in the broth. We also ordered two sushis. These were very good and flavorfully and spicy! The presentations were very nice and beautiful!! The servers were very attentive the whole time and the atmosphere was very warm, clean and cute!!!
We will definitely be back for more.

We love it here. We love take out, we love eat- in, we love sitting outside/inside ... all the things! My son is a huge fan of the pad see ew, my husband likes the spice in the basil fried rice, and I love all things sushi.
