My friend and I both had the fried red snapper with Jollof rice, and plantain, and we both loved it. Great atmosphere, great food, and friendly service.

It was my first time having Ghanaian food with my wife. The atmosphere and service was amazing, and it was a very relaxing environment. We had Banku, Fufu, peanut stew, goat, and beef. Everything vastly exceeded our expectations. We also got the background on each of our dishes, when Ghanaians would eat them, and which region they originated from. If you’re trying any African cuisine for the first time, I would highly recommend this establishment.

My husband and I went to try African food for the first time. We are huge foodies but this in particular was SO GOOD! We ate the peanut soup with fufu and goat and spinach stew with beef and banku. It was not heavy, very fresh healthy food. I would 10/10 recommend and we will come back.

Food: jollof with chicken, coke. The jollof was rather bland with minimal spicy flavor. The red sauce also wasn't spicy, but it made the jollof tastier. The 4 small chicken pieces had a tasty coating. Coke was served in a plastic cup with ice.
Service: considering that I was there for the Ghana v. Croatia World Cup game, the service was excellent in a jammed-packed restaurant.
Atmosphere: average, but I deducted 1 star because they didn't play music when Ghana scored against Croatia. Having returned to the U.S. from Accra the day before, the patrons were much more muted in their exaburence when Ghana scored--part of the reason is that no music was played after the score!

I got the pleasure of learning about Calabash and experiencing their Ghanian cuisine on a Sunday afternoon and I thoroughly enjoyed.

Calabash African Cuisine is an intimate and cute establishment that offers great customer service. And the food, the food was absolutely delicious! I ordered the Suya and Waakye, which took my tastebuds back to the delicious dishes my second family always cooked for festivities. I also got the opportunity to try my friend’s entree, which was the Banku with the Peanut Soup. Needless to say, the food was flavored and cooked perfectly.

Whenever, I’m craving some goodT Ghanian food, I’m glad that I now have a go to… Calabash.

The vibe and ambiance is absolutely amazing. The service was wonderful and I enjoyed our drinks. The sorrel drink was authentically delicious.
Food is well plated, I particularly enjoyed the choice and kelewele.
I was disappointed in the taste of the Easley and stew, and my friend didn’t enjoy the jollof as she hoped. We had some takeaway food as well and unfortunately it didn’t taste as great. I was BUMMED!!!!!!!!!!
Would I come again for food no lol maybe I’ll order chiofi only.
