We had supper here as a group of four. The food was great and the service too. I always order a beer or two but on principle I didn’t, as their beer prices are ridiculous. 9 usd for domestic beer, 10 for imported and 11 for draft. 5 usd for a Coke is also above average. I’ll have free water thanks.
Whether you like the food at Pasara Thai will depend on whether you like true Thai food or want local Thai food. The food is mostly well prepared and uses fresh ingredients, but it is very, very one dimensional in flavor. Maybe that is what the locals in the area want in their Thai food as they had a steady stream of customers, but my panang curry was the worst I have ever had. No peanut flavor along with very little curry. In fact, so little curry it was served on a plate instead...
The ambiance of the restaurant, Pasara, was excellent: quiet, impressive, well decorated, and clean place. The service was good and quickly served us. The food was excellent and the reason why I gave this place 4 stars. We stopped here for a brief & small dinner of appetizers before going to the movies. We ordered summer rolls and calamari. The food was well prepared. The calamari was the best I ever had. The summer rolls were good but not the best I ever had.
