“This was a 10 out of 10. We were in for Thanksgiving dinner. We had the turkey entrée. And the braised beef. Which was cut with a fork tender. Everything was beautifully seasoned and tasty. And very generous plates. Plenty to take home for after Thanksgiving leftovers. This was my first time ever having Thanksgiving in a restaurant. I have to say this was a home run. This could be my new go to........ Ps Staff was GREAT also..... All around great experience......“

“When you think of a speakeasy… this place looks like what comes to mind. Down a flight of stairs leading to oversized doors you find yourself stepping back in time and greeted by a skilled bartender sporting a handlebar mustache. Great for an after dinner drink or to just hang out with friends.“

“We eat here every single time we come to the DC area. It is my favorite place to eat. The Scotch Eggs, Shepherd’s Pie and Guinness Stew are our favorites. The staff remembers us and welcomes us. The owner is awesome. We can’t recommend this place enough.“

“The Haymaker is a great cocktail bar and has some of the best and hardest working bartenders in DC. When we arrived, the bar counter seats were almost full. Three cocktails in and the whole place was packed with 90/95% having cocktails, our refills still came quickly. Why only 4 star? They have changed the food menu and not for the better. The dumplings are still great. We also had the quesadilla. My wife liked it, I thought it was generic. We both thought the loaded tots were a major fail, the 'load', what little there was of it, had all fallen off and was in the bottom of the bowl. The draft beer choice is also weak, with Goose Island being their premium beer. I hope they change up their menu for the better.“

“We are from Buffalo NY down here on vacation. The host was absolutely amazing we sat at a high top by the bar and he came over and offered to move us to a bigger table so we had more room!! The bartender was our server and he was so attentive and on top of everything. They had a large school party that had about 50 people in it and they did not let that slow them down at all. At the end of that party we ended up speaking with one of the owners and he was so nice! We ended up finding out the host had family from where we are from and that was awesome! The food was amazing, portions were huge! Moral of the story the whole staff was amazing the food came out with perfect timing even with the huge party. Pricing, food, friendliness all worth it here they were amazing“

“Epic SmokeHouse – Arlington, VA Overall Rating: 8/10 Parking lot upgrades at the Pentagon brought G-FORCE to Arlington, but we didn’t expect to stumble upon BBQ royalty just a mile down the road at Epic SmokeHouse. Let’s just say… the name fits. We kicked things off with the App Sampler—and every bite hit like a flavor freight train. Smoked wings so tender they felt like they’d just left the hog pen—crispy skin, juicy interior, absolute perfection. Burnt ends? Melt-in-your-mouth with just enough sauce to whisper "I’m fancy" without screaming it. And the Kalua Pig Rolls… I still don’t know what’s in them, but I want to shake the chef’s hand (or hug him). Then came the showstopper: Brisket Poutine. Hand-cut fries crisped to golden excellence, smothered in rich brown butter gravy, melty cheese curds, and that sweet smoky brisket—topped with green onions and sesame seeds for that crunch-and-pop finale. This dish is dangerous… the kind of comfort food that makes you forget what day it is. The House Secret Burnt Mac rolled in hot in a mini skillet—smoky, cheesy, and just saucy enough to coat every bite without drowning it. Balanced, bold, and addicting. Don’t sleep on the Collard Greens either—just the right amount of flavor, a lil’ bit of spice but not too bold. A solid side that holds its own. Final Verdict: If you’re in Arlington for business, BBQ, or just breathing—get to Epic SmokeHouse. And if you're lucky, G-FORCE might’ve just made the parking lot a little smoother on your way in. #PaintAndPlateCrew #SupportLocal #EpicEats #BBQNearThePentagon #HIREAVET #GFORCEApproved #8OutOf10 #WINWITHVSB #PAINTCORPS“

“1st time trying there tacos. Ordered one carne asada and 1 bulgogi. The carne asada was average. I really enjoyed the bulgogi with their side sauce. Was like a yum yum sauce with a slight kick. There other sauces were good too. The red one was extra hot! I did go for lunch on a Sunday. Would recommend breakfast tacos/burritos!!! Maybe a brunch themed menu on the weekends. Specially in this area we love our brunches!!! I’ll be back to try a few more items.“

“I’m From out of town and was looking for a nice spot without any issues or problems with a nice atmosphere and vibe. I walked around and came across this spot.
The bar was clean, the Dj was playing some good music, the bar tender was very nice and we had some good conversations about his past job and how he started bar tending. He also made me a damn good old fashioned and …… hey, what more can you ask for. Thanks, I will be back and will have to bring the wife to try the drinks.
Nice place.“

“MacMillan Spirit House is the neighborhood bar you always wanted, whether or not you live in the neighborhood. A few streets over from King (which TBH adds to the neighborhood feeling), MacMillan serves up good old-fashioned service and perhaps an unexpected, elevated menu. Bar Manager Eleyna is an experienced pro who knows just what you need, including seasonal cocktails (the one I had was the essence of Fall). At MacMillan's you can relax. Enjoy. Belong. Don't rush through the tender, melt-in-your-mouth lamb tenderloin. Get nostalgic with the Guinness Beef Stew your grandma might have made. Warm up with creamy shrimp and grits. Celebrate with the best steak and chimichurri you've ever had. Your favorites are here at the bar, on the patio, in a cozy booth. The flavors are bold, the dishes crave-able. The young professionals, including new Head Chef Cole van de Vijver, at MacMillan's survived a time when we needed them but couldn't go to them. They needed us, we needed them. They have honed their craft. Now it's their turn to shine as they do what they were meant to do - provide the great food, the hospitality, the community we all need and are meant to have. Their passion is to serve you and give you the experience you need to relax, settle in... and enjoy.“
