A great bar to check out before you go see whatever film you're seeing at the Alamo. Among the great things about it: 1. Happy Hour (includes discounts on beer and some appetizers)2. Nice ambiance3. Décor that is designed to speak to the area (Departures is heavily based on its proximity to DCA, as you're a stop away on the metro to the airport). 4. I just posted under "Alamo Drafthouse," and didn't realize that their separate bar, Departures, has a separate Yelp listing.My friend and I had lunch there, and it was great. The decor was fun, the bartender David was welcoming, and the food and drink were tasty. The menu is the same as that of the movie theaters. I recommend Departures.

Very nice spot to lounge a chat a bit before a movie. Also nice view over towards national airport and pleasant, roomy outdoor section. So nice to be able to take our half-finished beers with us into the theater. Really classes up the movie theater experience!
