Peter Chang is a surprisingly nice restaurant with Asian chefs in the kitchen. The eggplant small plate is like an Asian version of fries, slightly salty but with good flavor and texture. The ghost chicken small plate is cooked to perfection, spicy but not overwhelming. The Mongolian beef is excellent, tender pieces of beef in a rich sauce, and can be made spicy upon request. The interior is nice, quiet, and unassuming. However, some customers were shocked by the extra charge for white rice with main dishes, which is uncommon in Chinese cuisine. The take-out experience was not as satisfying, with spring rolls described as oily and filled with mushy vegetables, lacking dipping sauce.
