Excellent, except for Old Bay on everything, so that was a little much. Still very good, great service, very nice local place.

If you like crab. Get here. The guy we had was amazing. Showed us what to do - you get fresh crabs on your table covered in these spices from heaven and then you barbarically tear them apart. The guy we had - skinnier white dude. I wish I knew his name. He took all the guess work out and showed us exactly how to get the most meat AND brought us a live one!!Very cool experience.

The crabs were made to order and arrived at the table steaming hot. It's best to make a reservation and go early so you can have a choice in the size of available crabs. I can't express enough how much I loved the crabs and can't wait to go back.

Such a great place! We stopped in here on a trip to DC and had a great time. It's a small place so we were glad to get a table without a reservation for lunch. We did a half dozen of the large blue crab with two side salads and that was enough for two people! Our waitress was so nice and showed up how to break the crab apart even though they were super hot. It has a very dive bar feel which for us was great!

What an establishment! Such good food and service. I recommend the peel and eat shrimp (hot) and the hush puppies. Obviously can’t miss with the crabs! Cat as our server, 10/10! Can’t wait to go back when I’m in town.

Fun place for seafood lovers. Well seasoned jumbo crabs, Fried oysters were plump and mouth watering. The crab-cakes with no fillers were sweet and meaty. Medium sized muscles served in garlic wine sauce was a hit. On the side, freshly steamed corn on the cob, hush puppies and coleslaw were all very tasty. Bloody Mary was the best I've had in any of the restaurant and bar. Five star cheers to the bartender! Jumbo Crabs were of course hard to eat but was overall a fun experience. Customers were all having a good time and we did too.

I can't wait to come back here for summer, but this was a great spot for a fun relaxing dinner. The crab cake was the best I've ever had. The hush puppies and lobster roll were a second favorite. The service was great and welcoming.

Unfortunately, they were out of crabs when we visited but we were really famished and ordered away. Everything was as you would expect. Two people in our party who both have been and are Quarterdeck fans agreed that without a tabletop of crabs- it'll be a pass

Get the crabs. They're amazing.Ours came still steaming, and they give you all the tools you need to get into them enjoy them, we got the half dozen regular and with a salad and coleslaw they were a wonderful lunch. The boiling spice is salty and spicy and so good. And being from a Chinese background having apple cider vinegar on the table was a treat. Dipping the meat in the vinegar was how we used to eat blue crabs when I was a kid.

This was my first time having this style of boiled crab, and it was a pretty enjoyable experience. What I got: Crab cakes- no filler, all crab. Solid. Half dozen of their smallest crabs- I was a bit concerned about finishing 6 crabs, but this was their smallest order size. It actually turned out to be quite manageable as blue crabs aren't that big if you're used to eating snow or Dungeness crab. They steam these to order and it takes 30-45 minutes for them to come out, so I recommend putting in your order right away. This preparation is super simple with Old Bay seasoning and clarified butter on the side, but it's very satisfying to eat. As a newb extracting all the meat and goodies inside the head takes some getting used to, but like anything, after a couple of repetitions you'll get the hang of it. A bit time-consuming to eat (took me about 45 minutes to get through all 6), but it's all part of the fun! This seems to be a popping spot locally, but I had no trouble getting a seat around noon at the bar as a solo diner. The atmosphere is no-frills and down-to-earth which I appreciated. Glad I made the trek over from DC! Next time I'll probably try their larger sizes of crab as I imagine you get more reward for your efforts.
