Sofia's Pupuseria is delicious every time I go - a favorite spot on Columbia Pike. Great pupusas, delicious plantains, and a variety of Latin/Salvadorian options. I also like the comfortable, laidback atmosphere there. If you are the kind of person who needs to spend $50-$100 for a fine-dining, Michelin star experience, then this is not the place for you. A coworker recommended this place for lunch. We had tacos, and they are good. I was not fond of the atmosphere, but since I liked the tacos, I decided to give it a chance. They had Salvadoran style soups, healthy and as my mom likes them, so I took her there in the evening. We'll, I liked the atmosphere even less. The soups were good, although we had to wait for them for a very looooong time. I would not go back to eat there, but maybe just do a carryout.

Stopped by Sofias after work one evening for dinner with a friend. We ordered the steak tacos and pork n cheese papusas. I thought the food was good but my friend found the papusas too oily and the steak too chewy.
