“If you're in the mood for the best donuts you've ever had, look no further than Carol Lee in Blacksburg. As someone who considers themselves a donut connoisseur, I can confidently say that Carol Lee's yeast donuts are unparalleled in terms of quality. What sets Carol Lee apart is their incredibly fresh and soft donuts with the perfect balance of glaze and sweetness. Even two days after purchasing, the donuts remained remarkably soft and delicious. The quality is truly outstanding – I'd give it a 10 out of 5 if I could. But it's not just the donuts that impress. The service is excellent, with friendly staff who accommodated my call-in order and had it ready for a quick pick-up. And at just $12 for a dozen, the price is an absolute steal compared to national chains like Krispy Kreme.Whether you're a local or just passing through, Carol Lee is a must-visit for donut lovers. I'd happily make the trip from Lexington, KY, just for these exceptional donuts. Trust the reviews – Carol Lee is the best-rated for a reason. An absolute five-star experience.“

“Visited VT and needed a place close by to grab some food and coffee. This place was super close to our hotel and got good reviews. The menu is extensive, it’s roomy, clean, seat yourself for breakfast and the food was amazing. My ONE complaint; the staff seemed angry about being there at 7 am and having to serve people. The restaurant wasn’t busy when we arrived and my son and I smiled and were very pleasant and thanked them every step of the way. The quiche I had was SO good and the portions of both meals were big. I just wish everyone hadn’t looked so unhappy and had smiled and were a bit kinder. I’d still go back againVegetarian options: Plenty of options to choose from.“

“Not for the shop, but they were setup at the farmers market so picked up a half dozen bagels and a loaf of spelt bread.TLDR: bagels were awesome, the bread was a big disappointment. All of the bagels were good, though the ginger and date was such a mild flavor it was overwhelmed by cream cheese. The parm+peppercorn was awesome, and the jalapeno cheddar had a great jalapeno flavor. Really can't say enough good things about these -- great texture and chew though maybe a little heavy on the cornmeal on the bottom for some. Didn't try the multigrain which can be tricky. The bread was just a real let-down, crumbling in your hands. Spelt is an older grain whose gluten can be tricky to work with, but this was so dry and crumbly when you'd try to pull out a slice from the bag it'd split in half. About 1/3 of the loaf seemed to just split off the top like the a seam hadn't taken when they rolled/shaped it for baking.Vegetarian options: Guys it's bagels“

“This place is amazing! Good food, good drinks, and it's right across the street from campus! I love the unique pastries and bagel sandwiches available. Personal favorite is called "Bangkok " and I'd highly recommend branching out from the standard Bacon Egg and Cheese's and getting something you can't get anywhere else. This place is great for study session, with plenty of comfortable seating, couches and board games for more casual hangout! I like the coffee here, and stop by on my way to class as often as possible. Check it out! Go Hokies!“
