We’ve hit about half the spots in town and this one was our favorite by far - I’d almost say don’t bother going anywhere else! Pastries are top notch (and I’m very picky with pastry) and sandwiches are delicious too - my favorite was the Cape Charles and my husband’s was the Seaside.

This place is AMAZING! The sandwiches are to die for. They have the option to order online if you have a big group. I will have to give Ms. Mary a shoutout for her kindness and customer service! It’s like she knew me and was so helpful. She even puts out ducks for the kids :) After having a bad experience at a place across the street, it was really great coming to Mason Ave Bakery and being greeted and treated so kindly. The pastries were great. I only took one star away because the line moves extremely slowly. We arrived at 8:30 (opening time) and there was already a line with about 10 people in front of us. It took over 30 minutes for those people to be served and for us to order. Keep in mind, it’s just people ordering bakery items and them being placed in a box so not sure what the slow down is. Otherwise, the staff was friendly and the items were reasonably priced.
