Barbie cooks her mom’s recipes in this fantastic little stop tucked behind Ting pavilion. It’s not just worth it for her truly excellent Mexican inspired food, it’s worth it just to be in her presence. It’s so clear that Barbie knows what matters in life, and she shares that vibe with us every time we go. And the soundtrack she keeps going certainly doesn’t hurt. Highly recommended.

Best tacos (and burritos and bowls if that's what you're into) around, honestly some of the best I've had anywhere! The salsa is amazing (you can join Barbie's salsa club, for those in the know). Keep your extra salsa (or order an extra cup) and try it on your eggs over the weekend. The chips are amazing, handmade, hand-salted, so salty and good. Barbie runs the whole shebang alone so I don't want to overwhelm her with business, but she's so good I have to let others know! She's right by the Belmont Bridge, easy walk from downtown, well well worth the small walk (or park under the bridge for free and take advantage of the delicious tacos there before you visit the mall).

Best burrito I’ve had in Charlottesville—holy cow. I got the regular burrito with no added guac, and it was incredible. The portion size is massive, easily enough to make two meals if you want. The flavors were so good, and I loved having four different hot sauce options to pair with it. I can’t believe I hadn’t heard of or tried this place sooner. Will definitely be back.

Amazing and friendly service in this adorable little hidden treasure of a spot. The chicken taco was a deliciously flavored and generous portion w THE FRESHEST clilantro, avocado, cabbage, radishes, tomatoes and lettuce. My husband got the pork bowl with same delicious qualities. Chips super yummy! We loved everything! The outdoor seating was perfect too. It was too delicious to take pics of the beautiful food!
