The crust is tasty but the food in general is under-seasoned, perhaps intentionally as that may be a more traditionally Roman way to prepare pizza/sandwiches. If you go here you should expect food with little to no salt and an emphasis on natural flavors.

I have been dreaming of these sandwiches since I had my first one near the opening. We went back today and tried different menu options. Charlottesville, we must protect this place at all costs! A gem šš

The bionda is one of the best sandwiches I've had in town. Everything is fresh and delicious. Sandwich was huge and filling.

Absolutely fantastic sandwiches and food. What sets this place apart is the quality of the schiattiaca bread. This is the closest thing to a true Roman eatery I've ever seen. Definitely worth the drive from Richmond!

I ordered the thief, a perfectly calibrated combo of fennel-scented salami, chunks of artichoke, fresh creamy pecorino cheese , peppery bites of arugula, nestled in deliciously chewy focaccia slathered with cipollini cream.
My service dog, denied a bite,, was pissed, but appreciated my improved mood and was solaced by a milk bone. Be kindāthe space inside is tiny, and the staff will cheerfully come out to take and deliver your order so you neednāt leave your dog in a hot car.
Seating is tight, which explains the metal chairs; perhaps in off hours folks might trespass into sister restaurant Bellaās?

The sandwiches are amazing! We had the bionda and the straccia. Sandwiches are all $12 and they also do pizza by weight. Itās all outdoor seating with Belle next door which is perfect for a nice spring day!

Ciaccia is a brand new Roman-style pizza and schiacciata sandwich spot in Belmont. We came later in the day and found the schiacciata bread was hard/difficult to chew for our sandwiches. The pesto on the le fair had too much garlic and acidity for me. But the service is very friendly and they have great patio seating to enjoy your food!

Wow! The 1st review, Iāll make it good!
I had the pleasure of visiting CIACCIA on their opening day, and I couldnāt be happier to have stumbled upon this gem. Just recently, I was telling my wife how I wished a place would open in town that reminded me of my favorite sandwich shops in Florence and Rome ā and this place absolutely nailed it.
The sandwiches and pizza were incredibly authentic, with fresh ingredients that transported me straight back to Italy. To top it off, they even carried my favorite blood orange Aranciata Rossa drink in a bottle, which was such a nostalgic touch.
The staff was exceptionally friendly, adding to the warm and welcoming vibe. I truly hope the rest of the town embraces this place as much as I did because I canāt wait to keep coming back. Wishing CIACCIA all the success they deserve ā weāre lucky to have them here!
