I’ve been to almost every coffee shop in Charlottesville, and I’d say Lone Light has the best 12oz drip by far. Strong and rich, but not too bitter. They use super high quality beans. Also love the nitro cold brew. Frothy and delicious.
Stopped in at Lone Light Coffee while visiting Charlottesville and had a fantastic experience. The shop has a clean, relaxed atmosphere with plenty of seating and a great specialty coffee feel.
I ordered the vanilla latte, and it was outstanding. It was surprisingly close to my favorite coffee drink back home, the Micah Bear at Coffee Camper in Monroe, Georgia — and that is a big compliment. Smooth, balanced and easily one of the better vanilla lattes...

As someone who deeply values good espresso done right, this place checks all the boxes. You won’t regret paying them a visit. My wife’s favorite is the Demerara sugar latte.
