We were staying at the Doubletree in Charlottesville and found it convenient to try Root 29 for breakfast. Bad idea. I ordered the farmhouse breakfast, with scrambled eggs and sausage. It was terrible! The cook tried to pass off buffet style eggs likely cooked in a bag in boiling water as fresh scrambled eggs. It is rare in my travels that I find a Doubletree hotel with a restaurant…this Charlottesville BA location has this restaurant and it is a great place with good food and they will accommodate basic changes well. My bartender/ waitress was Alisa…funny, pleasant, creative and accommodating! It was fun watching her interact with people throughout the night.
