I agree with other reviewers. I was extremely uncomfortable and wish I hadn't gone inside. It was an upsetting day
Killer wine store. Bill has all the best wines at the best prices. Only serves Lunch and Dinner a couple of days/nights a week. Sign up for the email list so you don't miss them
This place needs to be cleaned. There are opened wine bottles all over the bar and a good coating of dust on everything. There are so many better choices for buying wine or having a glass of wine, I wouldn't stop here.
one of the best wine shops I've been to! We bought 2 Pinots from Burgundy and one Cabernet Franc - all were absolutely great!
Bill Curtis and his team at Tastings have consistently delivered on high quality take home food during Covid. A creative and interesting menu.
My only regret is that I did not take the clerk's advice to buy a second bottle of the wine he recommended (as he knowingly suggested would be my regret). Small, independent shops live by the quality of their staff and the recommendations they provide to customers. This place knocks it out of the park.
It's astonishing that Tastings has not had more reviews during pandemic. The restaurant had to close, like many, but the owner, chef and staff pivoted and recreated their menu for contactless pick up - never missing a beat in quality. Order online, call whatever works. Over the months of self sacrifice being safe at home, ordering from Tastings has been our salvation. The menu is consistent, but has elements (lobster, lamb shanks, crab casserole, cassoulet) that never fail to impress. The 'at home' food flavors are still fabulous after travel, and you are dining safely and enjoying the best possible quality. They are also on top of Gluten Free needs, and can accommodate GF guests. One last thing: The most important element of their food selections is that they have world class wines to match your order, at retail prices. Sign up for the newsletter, there is always something to learn and they are not pushy. Run don't walk to your phone to get a meal made to pick up.
Knowledgeable staff and incredible wine in a cozy setting. The food was traditional and well-executed. Definitely going back!
The crab casserole is as delicious as we remember. However, I ordered the sautéed mushroom plate and all the vegetables were under seasoned and there were no salt and pepper shakers on the table. The service was great!
I have to start with how FANTASTIC the food was. Truly the best I've had in Charlottesville and Cville is a restaurant/food scene! I would go back for the food alone despite some other elements not totally being a great fit for us. The atmosphere was quaint but a bit dated and uncomfortable (benches and captains style wood chairs) for a nice date night with my husband. For this reason we didn't linger and have multiple courses, etc. and instead just had 1 drink each and entrees and went elsewhere for dessert and drinks. Our server was very nice!

Great food, as always, and great service. Kudos to Bill Curtis for a fine establishment.
Food is awsome, great wine selection
Incredible wine list -- just choose a bottle from the shop. The wine-by-the-glass pricing, however, remains a mystery. We love the lobster bisque and the mushrooms in puff pastry!
Best wine options in the entire city!
Warm charming good food lots of modest priced wines to choose from in the store. Wait staff professional but warm.
