Had my son’s graduation dinner here. Party of 12. Wonderful food, with matching atmosphere. Everyone said their meal was terrific! When in Charlottesville pursuing the culinary scene… Tavern & Grocery is a must try! The chef did it up right!
I don't want to ding their current rating, so I'm giving four stars because they tried. We ate there last week and had pre-determined meal consisting of a small artichoke salad (3/5) a tasty chicken and risotto dish (4.5/5) and finally some kind of flourless brownie with a raspberry (I think) compote that was nearly inedible. For the Austin Powers fans, I sculpted mine into a voodoo effigy of The Fonz after smoking some Peruvian prayer hash, but who at the end of the...
Outstanding brunch on this visit to UVA. Best omelet I've had in a long time. The French fries are a delight. And the Bloody Mary was a treat. The service was prompt and friendly. They took care to accommodate our daughter's food allergy. I will be back on subsequent visits to town!
