The three of us dined in one of the Locals 3 dining rooms. It was a cold night and they had their wood burning stove providing a lovely warm atmosphere to enjoy our delicious meals. Our server, Ben, did a great job serving up our food and drinks. This was our third visit enjoying our meals and cozy relaxed vib.

The Local has many great things going for it. The food is delicious — not fancy, not haute cuisine, but just really delicious. The ambience is terrific — relaxing, intimate, homey. The servers are friendly, helpful and efficient. And the prices are quite reasonable in this era of insane price gouging. So why only three stars?
Two reasons: 1) The chairs are somewhat uncomfortable — at least the chairs at our table were. But mostly: 2) When we entered the restaurant a little before our 6:00 PM reservation, it was virtually empty. Yet the young lady in charge of seating told us she needed to seat us on the second floor. I had never been to The Local before, but from experience, I am wary about being seated anywhere but the main room of any restaurant.
Nevertheless, we followed her upstairs to a second completely empty dining room. Here, we were offered a tiny table, with barely room enough for a single diner, in a tight corner right next to the bar. When we asked if we could be seated at a different table, we were told all the other tables were reserved. Well, OK… but we HAVE a reservation. We declined the table and went back downstairs. I told the young lady in charge that if we could be seated in the main dining room, great. Otherwise, we would call it a night. She immediately seated us at the worst table in the main dining room, in a chilly area near the busy door to the kitchen. An hour and a half later, when we left, the dining room was STILL two-thirds empty, so I don’t really see the point of trying to pawn off your worst tables on early arrivals. In any case, despite the many great things about The Local, I am unsure if I’ll be back anytime soon.
As always, YMMV (your mileage may vary).

Our meal for restaurant week was delicious. The service was excellent. We couldn't ask for more.
This was our first visit and we loved it! We dined upstairs and it was absolutely beautiful. The food was delicious too.
Even though the food was really good, I was disappointed by the effort to give us a really bad table, crammed between a wine rack and the bar passageway, even though we had a reservation and the restaurant was practically empty. It's a bad habit many restaurants cling to -- offering the worst table in hopes of getting rid of it -- but it sours the whole experience. We were finally offered a better table and had a chance to try the food, which was excellent. We'll probably give it another try because of its friendly vibe and great kitchen, and hopefully get a reasonable table on the first try.
This restaurant is a bar/restaurant, but the food is pretty good, almost upscale. Great prices and portions. Good drinks and quick service.
Extremely pleasant experience on a Sunday evening. Glad we had 6:00 reservation as although almost empty when we arrived it quickly filled up. We love the relatively short but varied menu which does not take a long time to pore over. Our server, when asked, told us she did not recommend one dish that I was interested in. The braised bison short ribs were simply wonderful and my wife enjoyed the simple but tasty meatloaf. Did not try the desserts but they sounded very good. Will definitely return.
Wow wow wow this place is excellent. From start to finish the service, food and drinks were phenomenal. They have lots of nice specials, an extensive wine menu and fun cocktails. We got the ribs and sirloin and they were both cooked perfectly.

Our server was knowledgeable with the menu and offered suggestions. One of the Chef specials was lasagna bolognese which was served ice cold. The first piece looked like a well constructed cut of lasagna. Speculating, but I believe they cut it in half and put it in the microwave before returning it. On the plus side flavor was good. The salmon was delicious and I appreciate the strong recommendation. Too bad I was nearly finished when my wife's dish returned from the microwave.
It was very chilly in the upstairs room because of drafty windows. Food wasn't quite hot enough, but tasty. Service very good

Took my wife for a birthday dinner. Food was good. My server was great. Had a great dinner.
I think we chose the wrong food. It just wasn’t amazing. I had the meatloaf. The menu said BBQ sauce. Sounded good. It was not BBQ sauce. It was hot sauce that ruined my palate for everything else on the plate. We ordered mixed drinks but the food came out so fast we didn’t get our drinks until after our food. We came for a long relaxing evening. We literally ordered and ate our food in 25 minutes. The food came out extraordinarily fast - like fast food. Our waiter was very understanding and great. They even offered a discount even though we didn’t complain.

Cool downtown restaurant, lots of charm and ambience. Relatively small menu, but delicious choices and very reasonable prices.
We went for New Year’s Eve dinner- a very busy night. We got the short ribs and fried chicken. The service was excellent and very fast. The food was delicious! I’m looking forward to returning!

Great cocktail selections. Appetizers had a great variety of options- we had the crispy shrimp and fried oysters and both dishes had their own delicious sauces/dips. Will say- the crab pasta was very soupy. Our server was very hospitable and attentive. Overall good experience, would return in future.
