For the second time in the last month the bag the sub came in and the sub itself smelled like mothballs!! What's up with that? The roll was not fresh either time and the amount of meat/turkey was very stingy. Guess we won't be going here anymore. Such a shame after the wonderful quality and service Steve always provided. Sad.
We stopped in here for some sandwiches to take back to our hotel. Note that the 'small' size is like a 12" sub so order accordingly. We got two 'small' subs and two sides and half of everything got saved for another meal. We selected the potato salad and the macaroni salad. Our subs were the Italian Cold Cut and the American Cold Cut. We were looking for a good sandwich place to pack a picnic lunch for our visit to Assateague. We were told that Steve’s makes the best sandwiches on the island but were skeptical about getting food from a gas station. We were pleasantly surprised by the menu and the server was very accommodating when we asked to customize two halves of a single sandwich. Overall, we would recommend Steve’s. Just look past the location.
