Fabulous place to spend an hour or a whole afternoon. The tasting room is cozy and the grounds are breath taking. And the wine...whether white or red,you will find a favorite. One of our favorites is the Screaming Hawk Meritage. highly recommend!!
Wonderful wine and beautiful location!!
This is our absolute favorite VA winery. We are also club members from out of state. We have never had a bottle of their wine that we didn’t love. Vintner Mike is a wealth of information, as is Alex in the tasting room. The property is beautiful. This winery is a true gem- we visit them at least once every year in addition to receiving our club allotment by mail.

Mountain & Vine Vineyards and Winery is a charming hidden gem located at the end of a dirt road in Nelson County, Central Virginia. Previously known as DelFosse, the winery offers a picturesque setting, with beautiful views of the valley and a lovely pond for guests to enjoy. The winery is both dog-friendly and family-friendly, making it an inviting place for visitors of all ages. Guests can savor a variety of delicious wines, including winter reds by the fire and summer whites by the pond. The staff, often described as welcoming and knowledgeable, provide a traditional tasting experience that many find delightful. The tasting room, while simple, complements the stunning grounds where visitors can relax and enjoy the scenery. A highlight of the experience is the friendly vineyard dog, Buck, who enjoys playing with guests and their pets. The property also features a rental cabin on a hill, offering a unique lodging option. While the drive to the winery may be winding and off the beaten path, guests agree it is well worth the journey for a day of great wine and a magical atmosphere. Overall, Mountain & Vine is highly recommended for anyone visiting the area.
