We recently held a large family party here. We had a good experience. The food was good and enjoyed by all. The space was also good for the number of people. Overall good experience.

We hosted our sister's birthday there at the indoor/ outdoor lounge.
There was plenty of room. We had fresh dosas with sambar made to order and appetizers. And mocktails too.
Then we ordered the buffet with all great dishes such as the chicken tikka, daal, malai kofta and much more.
For dessert we had the gulab jamun.
Great service. The owner was there to make sure we had everything we need.
The price was perfect within our budget of 15 to 20 people. Highly recommend!!

First the good part, the food is good, the waiters are courteous and friendly, the ambiance is good.
We had our grandson's birthday party at Aroma. When we spoke to them, they said the cost would $45 per person and drinks would be $10 per person. This was fine. They said we would receive the contract in a couple of days. Kept on waiting for 2-3 weeks. No contract. Contacted them and they said would send the contract. Couple of more weeks go by and still no contract. Went to the restaurant to talk to them about the contract. They said they had sent the contract. Waited couple of days, no contract. Called them and finally they sent the contract.
When we looked at the contract, we were shocked. The amount was almost twice of $45 per person. They charge $20 additional per person. And on top of that there is a 22% Service Charge plus the taxes. When we asked what the $20 was for, they said for the utensils, tablecloth, chairs, etc. Aren't these things normal for the restaurant to provide. Besides the service charge, they expect tips on top of that for the servers. Then what is the service charge for?
Aroma had taken so long to provide us a contract, which was not what was expected. By the time we received the contract it was too late to find another place, so we went with Aroma, we did not have a choice. Aroma should have been straightforward on the costs, and these are not minor costs.
On the day of the event, things went well. We had the place from 12 noon to 4 pm. Around 3:15, they took the food away. People from the next event started to set up, right between our celebrations. Our guest felt awkward and started to leave. This is so unprofessional of Aroma.
A couple of weeks before the event, we met Aroma in person and provided them with the number of people. On the day of the event, I sent e-mail to Aroma confirming the number of people, but made a typo. Instead of saying 'x' number of people under 5, I said 'x' number of people under 'x'. I know, my mistake.
When it was time to pay the bill, I was shocked at the number of people they were charging for. When I explained that it was a typo and that we had mentioned the number of people when we met in person. But they were not willing to listen. That they had cooked food already. Finally they reduced the amount by a little, but it still ended up costing us over $1,000 than we were expecting.
Overall, at the end of it, it ended up leaving a very bad taste in our mouth of dealing with Aroma. Would never deal with them again.

We recently closed on a house across the street from Aroma. We arrived and were the only ones in the restaurant which is not a bad thing. Ali greeted us immediately and attended to our every need. He was attentive and caring. The food was excellent. I will come back a lot!

My butter chicken was average but the naan bread was really good and the samosas were good although a little spicy but I think that’s probably authentic.

The food was good but they are very not transparent with their prices. First of all there was no menu for the hookah there, I was looking at it online and it says $22. Then they charge me $40, maybe some premium stuff fine whatever, but then they charged $35 to refill the coal and flavor… never once was this mentioned prior, every hookah bar ive been to has free hookah refills, or at least specifies if they aren’t. A small meal for 2 with some hookah totaled out to 143$ before tip.. ridiculous. We were confused why the restaurant was completely empty and that explains why.
Food was literally stale . I ordered chicken tandoori. Got allergies all over the body after eating . Please do not go! Horrible food

After coming from Great Falls Overlook I knew these guys were fairly close so I wanted to see if this was the same restaurant as Aroma Indian formerly in Shirlington, Va. Yes, they are!
I was with company and we decided to dine in. Ali took care of us and I must say he was very friendly and professional.
I had the Butter Chicken (white meat) and it’s the exact same as I had back when they were in Shirlington.
Their Butter Chicken sauce is BY-FAR the best I’ve ever had in the DMV area.
Now, to give this context, I used to have an Indian friend and we went to a ridiculous amount of Indian restaurants in the DMV area but none I liked more than these guys.
Oh and no, I wasn’t given anything/paid for this review and yes I am human and not AI.

Cashier: Ali he gave us a wonderful service and great care during the lunch we had. That too at 3.30pm he stopped eating and served us completely. Such a wonderful experience and great pleasure. Will suggest to others and will visit the restaurant often just for him. Thanks Ali
