I saw this restaurant on Google maps while searching for a place to meet friends for dinner. It didn't fit what I had in mind. But intrigued I went there with my family and thoroughly enjoyed the food! We all thought the fresh ingredients, clever mixtures and exciting sauces were wonderful and ever so healthy. Their service was efficient but the atmosphere was sterile and noisy even almost empty...better for takeout.
I found Roots unexpectedly and was very surprised. Although not exclusively vegan, it is vegan friendly. I've had lots of tofu in my life, but their tofu is a kind the best, it's firm and flavorful throughout. You can custom create your dishes so it's hard to go wrong.

Sweetgreen was my favorite place to get my salad fix ... until I had Roots. Please open one in Reston. I seriously dream of these salads, and I wish I could buy the grilled chicken in bulk for my more boring salads at home.
