Extremely over priced for what you receive. I have never been to an Indian restaurant where rice was not included with your meal. When we asked for some clarification, we were told to look at our receipt because we didn’t pay extra for rice; no opportunity to pay for rice, just a snarky comment.
I’m from Maryland, yesterday I visited this place. I ordered curry leaf chicken and goat fry Biryani Both are very nice and irani chai was too good.

Chowrastha - Indian Eatery & Bar is a popular Indian restaurant known for its diverse menu and vibrant atmosphere. It offers a self-service style with options for dine-in or takeout, making it convenient for different dining preferences. The restaurant features a wide range of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, including flavorful items like chole puri, veg biryani, Guthi Vankaya Pulao, and various appetizers such as Curry Leaf Chicken and Jalapeño chicken. Many reviewers praise the quality and taste of these dishes, highlighting the flavorful pulao, fresh chicken, and well-prepared curries. The restaurant also serves a variety of chaat items, with panic puri and dahi puri being favorites among visitors.
A notable feature is their Irani chai, which consistently receives high praise for its taste. The restaurant recently opened a bar that stays open till midnight, adding to its lively vibe. For breakfast, the place offers multiple vegetarian options, including Mysore bonda, vada, poori masala, and dosa, often enjoyed with neatly maintained chutneys and sambar, accompanied by devotional music.
However, some reviews mention that the food can be very spicy by default, so it’s recommended to ask for milder options. There are mixed opinions about certain items like samosa chat and masala tea, which some found disappointing. Overall, Chowrastha is considered a good Indian restaurant worth visiting, especially for its authentic flavors, ethnic crowd, and casual self-service setup.
