“If you walk into a famous restaurant, you tend to like the food anyway! If you walk into a restautant that is not at a very upmarket location, you expect it to be an average restaurant too. But, this restaurant is a hidden gem! At the first look at the menu, it appears that items have been given fancy names to fetch higher prices. But when you eat the food, you will find that it is a class apart! You get a dining experience. The staff is courteous, and friendly. The tables are far apart enough to give you privacy. They have a good selection of non-veg items (but I am a vegatarian). Among vegetarian items, you don't find the usual permutations of limited items - the dishes are unique! The dishes are served just at the right temparature. The gravey is so well made that it tastes homegenous- you can't tell spices separately. The serving size is enough for one person. We tried a couple of paneer dishes - they use homemade paneer, and it just melts in the mouth!Just like other places where it is hard to find entrees without onion-garlic, the chef made Paneer butter-masala for me. Because this is what I usually get wherever I go, I can say that it was the best I have eaten anywhere! The food is worth every dollar you spend. I think they will become the best restaurant in the subarban DC.Vegetarian options: There are a few Panner items, dal fry but not usual permuatations of paneer, gobi, matar, and aloo! Very well made and served.“
“Bollywood themed Indian snacking place on Elden street. You will find plenty of parking outside and the place is also friendly for wheelchair or stroller entrance. The staff is very friendly and they serve you with smile. They are kids friendly too. They have self service where they call your bill token number and you have to collect your food from counter. The whole place has a 90s Bollywood theme. Every table top is laminated with 90s Bollywood movie posters. You will find more of the North Indian snacks here. We tried masala chai which was tasty full of cardamom taste with bread pakoda. The bread pakoda looked like they have refried it but it tasted as exactly as Indian food stalls sell. We also tried their dabheli but can feel it was so so not that tasty. It only has masala potatoes in it no crunch. The chutney’s server was also so watery. So would not suggest to try their dabheli but you can try other things. There chole bhature looks amazing so probably we will try it next time. They have small juice center too inside. You can get fresh fruit juices here and tasty tasty falooda also and if you are bored go try their game room. Check it out soon“
“Food is amazing!!! Prices are extremely reasonable.I wish they would play Indian music instead of elevator style music inside, but other than that… this restaurant is fantastic! They have spicy level options with each meal, a lot of Gluten free options (Like the Uttapam - soooooo good). We’re very happy to have found this spot and plan on coming back very often for dine in and takeout.“
“I stopped for office lunch with colleagues. Hands down the best Pizza place in the area. Food quality and taste top notch. One of the very few Pizza places with lot of dine in space and very good vibe. Service was pretty good and staff were pretty accommodative. I will definitely be back to try more pizza flavors.“
“We ate the Rajasthani Thali (on Friday) and it was amazing. The daal baati was one of the best I've eaten in my life (including in India). The gatta subzi and rasmalai were also really good. Definitely recommend this place for soul fulfilling Indian food. Our only complaint was the service, which can be improved so that customers are not left waiting.“
“I don't know what people expect when they go to a casual snacks place like this. My 4 star is based on two things, one is very very good customer service and really nice and helpful folks. And the second thing is their snacks, I really like their Indian snacks items. Specially chicken puff and onion samosa, and their chai, I could literally have them every evening as snacks. I have also tried their chicken burger, pretty good and has a desi flavor to it. Overall, a good option for desi snacks and quick bites and really good chai.“
“This place is amazing indeed. My son had a Tapsilog (Tapa, Sinangag(garlic fried rice) and Itlog (egg), a well known Filipino breakfast, also Lumpia. I had Kare Kare (Peanut sauce stewed oxtail. OMG, it’s the most delicious Kare Kare I have ever tried. The oxtail just melted in my mouth, gourmet Kare Kare indeed. Presentation was awesome and customer service was excellent. It’s a hidden gem indeed. We will definitely be back for many more to try all their dishes. Though they have international cuisines , so happy that they embraced and also highlight their Filipino dishes. You will not disappoint with this restaurant. We finished our meal with Turon (Fried Banana) topped with Ice cream. Thank you for the heavenly meal. We loved it so much! We left with big smiles on our faces.“
“I never get wrong to choose Balaji cafe for my chats and Pani puri cravings. They have the best sev puri, bhel puri, idli samber, dosa and Pani puri in the area, I tried these things from many places but Balaji cafe always fulfilled it with tasty food. I buy from them more then 10 times, the food quality and the taste are always the same. Definitely worth to spend here.“
“We ordered takeout from here twice, both times the food was really good. The chicken 65 fried rice is spot on. We also tried Singapore noodle, chicken manchurian, and vegan yellow curry, everything was well seasoned and full of flavors. The portion sizes are good for at least 4 servings. My only concern was few dishes were really greasy.Overall, I would recommend this place!“
“My husband and I took my vegetarian sister out to dinner and we all loved the food!! We were in foodie heaven enjoying all the delicious platters which were served over bamboo plates. Amazing how this place can do both veg and non veg dishes so very well. The service was friendly, you simply order at the counter and they bring your food to you.Our favorites were:?? Chilly Paneer?? Veg Dum Biryani?? Malai Kofta?? Butter Chicken?? Chicken Dum Biryani?? Garlic Naan?? Bread PuddingWe can’t wait to go back for more. Come hungry!“
“I have been here for morning brunch time around 11:30 AM. The service has been very good and prompt. Food quality is also very good for South Indian menu items including Thaali. While this is not same as A2B chain quality but has been surprising good. Ambience with music and flowers is good as “
“I went for breakfast on weekend . Food was great and tasty . Service was good too. Only drawback is their overcharge. I asked for idli podi. They added $1 for that . Also they added 15% service charge even though I went alone . On top of that transaction fee for credit card . Originally breakfast was $14 including tea . But I paid close to $20 for one person with all fees for mini breakfast . This is not good business tactic. Either display correct price . Give option of tip rather than default service charge for 1 customer . Charging extra $ for podi or pickle is cheap ! I would definitely visit again if they cut all additional charges for delicious food“
“Whenever we want to eat Indian vegetarian food, Sai saravana bhavan is always the first choice. They have amazing dosa, vada and north indian curries like paneer tikka masala, kadhai paneer, malai kofta etc. The most important, its economical and tastier than many other restaurants near by. There are few occasions of missing food items, taste and quality but thats ok sometime as no one is perfect. Overall a nice place to enjoy indian food. The only thing missing is the sitting arrangements.“
“My friend and I recently dined here and our meal was fantastic! Everything about it was enjoyable, full of flavor, and delicious. :) We ordered a tandoori chicken (get this!!!), aappam dish (with egg curry, my friend ordered this so I forget the exact name but it was really good), and a kothu parrota (my dream Thanksgiving stuffing) ?.The tandoori chicken comes out sizzling (see pics) and is one of the best I’ve ever had. ☺️All of our food was amazing, the service was great, and I will definitely be coming back! Five stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ all around. ☺️“
“I would recommend takeout. Flavors were good. Pretty greasy, but that's what I ordered. The place was kind of unappealing - water on the floor, looks like they are part way through converting from whatever it used to be, wobbly tables.“
