“Superb authentic Indian food. The real taste of south Indian cuisines, well cooked and every item on the Buffet was tasty. The staff greet you with a smile and really take care of your choice of food and also give their suggestions to try other dishes too. They had mild, medium and high spicy foods displayed in the buffet. The atmosphere was very nice, clean and looked very hygienic. We savored Dahi Bhalla, Pav Bhaji, Misal, Halka Fulka Thali, and Kulcha Chole—all bursting with fresh and flavorful ingredients. It was a delightful journey back to the tastes of India. The cherry on top was the hospitality from restaurant owner Jai Patel. This place is a definite must-visit!

“We had such an AMAZING experience here. After going to another BBQ location only to find they were closed was disappointing but we ended up here and it was better than we imagined. The Staff were so pleasant, helpful and actually happy to be at work. The brisket was moist, cooked to perfection and hot. We had the greens, Mac and cheese, baked beans and French fries. Everything came out fresh and quickly. The Staff continued to check on us during our meal and made it a really nice end to our Vacation. Being active duty military, we travel so much, we rarely find anything new. Missions was an AWESOME find and we will definitely try it in other states.“

“The Russia House is a delightful Restaurant, upscale and classy with a lovely ambiance. So enjoyed being able to converse in a normal tone of voice. Service was excellent... my boyfriend sampled a Manhattan with Pepper Vodka, he gave it a thumbs up, followed by wild Salmon in Champagne sauce with caviar...simply delicious. I had the duck, which was the best I've had in a long time. Highly recommend the restaurant.“

“I went to cinnaholic recently to try out one of their cinnamon buns but got introduced to something else. When I walked in no was there. I called for help a couple of times but no response. A couple minutes later a baker came out from the back and was looking for someone to help me. Still no one came out. Before I walked in I saw a girl in the front of the restaurant on the phone. Apparently that girl was the cashier. Before the baker went back to the kitchen I asked for his recommendation. I say I was between the lemon/blueberry coffee cake and the Cookie Monster cinnamon bun. Surprisingly he said the lemon/blueberry coffee cake so that’s what I got. I also got a day after cinnamon roll with frosting on the side. Total ended up being the same as if I got the Cookie Monster cinnamon bun. I don’t regret my decision at all. Definitely a unique place.“

Our waitress, Lily, was amazing and so positive—absolutely passed the vibe check and was attentive without being over bearing. “Nice little place, lovely people. It really seems optimized for the lunch crowd in the Herndon/Reston area - - counter service available, hard-top tables, and so on. I took my overnight visiting cousin there so he could try Afghan food.

The food was quite good (we each ordered kabobs, and I got us a kadu starter so he could try Afghani-style pumpkin), albeit just a little bland (perhaps to have broader appeal to American diners?). But it was thoroughly pleasant, and staff were very polite and friendly.

Prices weren't unreasonable, but the total dinner tab was on par with what one would pay for dinner of slightly better quality in a more inviting setting (something like Panjshir or Bamiyan). So, I think I'd give this a strong recommendation as a lunch spot. Perhaps they might brainstorm a bit about making dinner service a little more inviting. But kudos for exposing more people to Afghani cuisine.

Parking: Located in the typical "urban modern" rabbit warren of mixed-use office buildings, commercial rental apartments, hotels and condos. Street parking only. In the evening, when the area clears out, it was pretty easy to find a free spot. During the day, I suspect parking is a challenge except for those who have access to underground garages.“

“Super Pho in Herndon, VA, hands down, has the best PHO in the Northern VA area! The summer rolls w/ peanut sauce are fresh and always hit the spot. The PHO tastes so much better than any PHO I've ever tasted in the NOVA, DC, or MD. The serving sizes never leave you hungry, and the price leaves you happy to be able to come back, again & again. They have the best sev puri, bhel puri, idli samber, dosa and Pani puri in the area, I tried these things from many places but Balaji cafe always fulfilled it with tasty food.
