“Our Monday night dinner group has come back here multiple times. The smell is wonderful immediately when you walk in. The host and all staff there are super friendly and always fun to chat with. Our waiter had our whole table laughing every time we engaged with him. Everyone's orders were perfectly cooked, nice sized portions and came out very quickly. I personally love the Malaysian Iced Coffee, Roti Canai and Chicken Satay. Our group had noodle dishes, beef, lamb, seafood....all was wonderful. The flavors are vivid and bright, delicious and clearly comfort food. I promise you, you'll enjoy your trip here. Great food for everyone. Very nice open atmosphere and every table seemed very content.“

“Superb authentic Indian food. The real taste of south Indian cuisines, well cooked and every item on the Buffet was tasty. The staff greet you with a smile and really take care of your choice of food and also give their suggestions to try other dishes too. They had mild, medium and high spicy foods displayed in the buffet. The atmosphere was very nice, clean and looked very hygienic. I would highly recommend this restaurant, a must try, if you like Indian food. I will certainly go there again. Thanks a million, Keep it up.“

I got a chicken kathi wrap and it was simple yet glorious in flavor, texture, and ratio of the parotta to the filling. There was I believe also chatpata flavor inside the wrap which I was not used to, but it added another dynamic of flavor complexity complimenting the juiciness of the egg and chicken inside. Please visit this place and it will change your perception on eggs!!“

“As a South Indian, I’m pretty picky about biryani, and this is hands down the best Mughlai biryani I’ve had in the United States. The flavors were rich, perfectly balanced, and you don't get sick after few bites. Great ambiance, amazing food. I’ll definitely be coming back.“

“This time we went with family members. We tried different varieties. We all enjoyed revert items ordered. Food was delicious , fresh, and tasty. The service was even better. “Chaatwala is hands down one of the best spots in Herndon for authentic Indian food! The chaats are amazing – super fresh, flavorful, and just the right amount of spice. The dosas are perfectly crispy, and the curries are rich and delicious. The staff is really friendly, service is quick, and the portions are generous. You can tell they put a lot of care into the food and it shows in every bite. If you’re looking for great Indian street food and comfort dishes in Northern Virginia, this place is a must-visit. “We loved our experience. Came for dinner with my husband and ordered several dishes. The chicken platter appetizer came out sizzling and delicious. We also enjoyed the Gobi Manchurian (sweet and spicy cauliflower appetizer). The Natu Kodi and Shrimp Curry entrees were both spicy oily and tomato-based with the perfect amount of seasoning… very rich in flavor. Enjoyed both of those dishes. My favorite entree was the paneer butter masala. Amazing sauce - similar to butter chicken sauce. I was eating the sauce with everything!! Also had an amazing Chicken Dum Biryani where the chicken was on the bottom of the rice. The garlic naan was phenomenal. Got to meet their chef Krishna who was super nice and explained some of the dishes to us. We were pleased with our meal and will be back to try out their buffet next!“

“The price is good, and the chicken was juicy with a well-done marinade. The rice was long-grain and cooked properly, which I really appreciated. I also liked that the vegetables were grilled, not just fresh — that added a nice touch.

The downside for me was the chickpeas — they didn’t seem cooked the right way and were missing the proper spices. The portion size is on the smaller side, but considering the lower price, it makes sense.

“Came here randomly and was really more than pleasantly surprised by the variety and depth of flavors. The butter chicken, palak paneer, and chettinad mushroom we’re all super delicious and unique in their own ways that made them stand out to me compared to other Indian Restaurant in the Henrdon area. The Parotta (paratha) was homemade and absolutely delicious and flaky. Definitely worth checking out!

They also have a buffet on the weekends from 11:30 to 2:30-You have to make reservations in advance on the hour and they fill up fast.“
