Decent food, drinks and service, in an iconic setting dating back to the Gilded Age. Really that is what you are getting and paying for. A beautiful escape in the middle of rural countryside, getting to on a wonderful drive. Yes, the food could be a better (it is by no means bad...any idea how hard is to provision a hotel in such a location with staff, a quality chef, duck, etc? That is a feat in itself). Service started perfect but then slowed down as the restaurant got busier...
Food service and atmosphere were stellar. The food was delicious kudos to the chef, kitchen and staff. It was a complete experience. It felt like a Michelin star quality of food. The price was reasonable for what it was. Would eat here again! The trout and lobster bisque were particularly delicious.
We had a wonderful evening at the American Audubon Dining Room! Hugo was warm, knowledgeable about the menu and incredibly attentive. The food outstanding. I think the consensus winner was the duck. For dessert we recommend the “Gold Brick!” The pianist also made the night by playing songs from the kids' favorite Disney movie!
