We spent a night in Lexington on our way home to NC and happened upon Sweet Things after dinner. I did not have cash (or my checkbook!) on me, so I was ready to turn around and walk out with my 9 year old. Lo and behold, a wonderful woman, who had previously worked at Sweet Things, gave me $10! This establishment had changed owners since my childhood memories, but I am pleased to say that it’s still homemade! You do need cash, no cards are accepted. Well worth the trip to this local establishment for genuine homemade ice cream and waffle cones. They have seasonal flavors as well, the fall maple is fabulous! My all time fave is the Oreo.
