The ice cream was delicious!!!
We spent a night in Lexington on our way home to NC and happened upon Sweet Things after dinner. I did not have cash (or my checkbook!) on me, so I was ready to turn around and walk out with my 9 year old. Lo and behold, a wonderful woman, who had previously worked at Sweet Things, gave me $10! She actually tried to give me $15! She didn't have Venmo, so I could repay her and she insisted despite my attempts to decline, so I accepted her generosity. Sweet Things Ice Cream Shoppe is a charming spot in downtown Lexington. The ice cream flavors are pretty standard, but the chocolate dipped cone waffle is a standout. The homemade cones may be a bit oddly shaped, but they taste great. The owners are friendly and welcoming, making every visit special. Even after 30 years, customers still remember and love this ice cream shop, wishing they could have it closer to home.
The staff is very kind and offers plenty of samples. The shop is well-kept, clean, and organized. They also sell candy in the back, with lots of varieties, even for those who don't like ice cream or have allergies, as well as serving four flavors of sherbet. Customers praise the quality, service, and selection, with some even considering it the best ice cream in Virginia. It's a great place to meet with friends and family when visiting the area.
