It is extremely busy, and there is a severe shortage of service personnel.

A nice restaurant but the food was okay, nothing special but very overpriced, I wouldn’t come back.

Absolutely wonderful experience. From the menu that accommodates many different diets/allergies/restrictions, to the pleasant time we had with our server, I had an absolutely incredible time at this restaurant.

We've been here a few times over the years. The restaurant's atmosphere is beautiful and the staff are invariably eager and fairly polished. The food prices and portions are good for the area. The caveat is the food, which is decent but certainly not spectacular. The meat/dishes in particular are underwhelming; we have more luck with the appetizers.
I presume the fawning reviews come from folks who have not tried much afghani cuisine, but I'd the food is on par with a number of fast casual afghani places in the area, the one exception being the dessert cakes, which are exceptional.

Excellent food and service. We tried the tasting menu which is served family style. Ordered 4 for a group of 5 and we had plenty of food. Tried the Moroccan wine which was great.
This was one of the best restaurants I've been to in the DC Metro Area. My grandson and I came for dinner, we like to try foods of different cultures. We were both so happy with every aspect of this nice neighborhood restaurant. The wait staff were so lovely and attentive. My grandson got lamb chops and he said they were the best he's ever had, they were not gamey-tasting at all. I had salmon kabobs, delicious. Each came with jasmine rice, a cooked spinach side, and a wonderful slaw. Kudos to the chef. The restaurant was filled, but we could still hear each other. There are many vegetarian and vegan options to select from the menu. We also got the Assorted dumplings which included pumpkin, leek/onion, and spicy beef--excellent. I will definitely come back here even though it's a 40 minute drive to McLean. Try this restaurant. It's a gem.
Food was delivered hot and fresh. I was greeted with bread and an assortment of delightful sauces.
I ordered Quabuli Palou - lamb over amazing rice and roasted eggplant

I visited Aracosia McLean recently, and it genuinely exceeded my expectations. The food was rich, flavorful, and clearly prepared with care. Every dish had depth — especially the grilled meats and appetizers, which were perfectly seasoned and cooked. The presentation was impressive without feeling overly fancy, and the portions were solid.
The service was warm and attentive. Staff checked in without hovering, and everything came out on time. The atmosphere is elegant and relaxing, making it a great spot for both casual dinners and special occasions.
Overall, Aracosia delivers a combination of excellent food, service, and ambiance. Definitely one of the better dining experiences in the area, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for something flavorful and well-executed.

Excellent food and service. Our waiter even made recommendations to accommodate our requests and food allergies
Absolutely amazing food, fantastic service. We will be back. The only comment we have that isn't even bad is that the temperature seems to sway from cold to very warm inside. We were sat by the windows, maybe that is why. We each ordered the tasting menu and went home with a bag full of food
Amazing food!!
