SHō Sushi & Izakaya is a hidden gem of a Japanese restaurant that has recently opened. Upon stepping inside, guests are immediately immersed in a stunning, upscale environment with a black and gold decor that exudes elegance and a clean, contemporary Japanese design that creates an inviting atmosphere. The service is exceptional, with staff attending to guests' needs flawlessly. While the portions may be smaller than expected, the food quality is outstanding, making every bite a delight. Recommended dishes include the Salmon Flight Platter with melt-in-your-mouth king salmon from New Zealand, the Yakitori Platter with a selection of expertly grilled meats, the Wagyu Hambagu with a savory sauce, and the Shrimp Mentaiko Cream Udon with a rich, creamy buttery sauce.
Guests can enjoy a variety of fresh and light flavors, with seafood flown in from Japan. The restaurant offers a selection of skewers, including pork belly, beef rib, and unagi, which are known for their delicious flavors, though some find certain items like unagi a bit gummy. The nigiri and sashimi are considered the star dishes, praised for their authenticity and freshness. The Green Tea Is excellent, and desserts like miso ice cream and matcha tiramisu are highly recommended. The restaurant is also a great place for families, with a kid-friendly setting and the ability to accommodate special requests. Even though it’s tucked away on the side of wok and Afghan places, it’s worth seeking out for a memorable sushi and Japanese dining experience.
