Food was just ok, not worth the money or the calories. Sushi rolls are just simple, no flavorful sauces or pretty plating. I know, it might not be as authentic but that’s the kind of sushi I prefer. The Ramen was bland. Service was ok but a little slow.

I went to Tachibana Japanese Restaurant in Mclean and it was amazing! The food was delicious, especially the sushi and sashimi. The atmosphere was cozy and the staff was friendly and attentive.

Once a year during out budget season, we work late for several weeks and always treat ourselves to one of their incredible sushi platters at least once. Expensive but well worth it.

A few of us spontaneously decided to get Tachibana for dinner this past Thursday and it was a good first experience for me. A couple of my friends have been here a few times and say their lunch specials are definitely worth the price. The service was pretty quick and we enjoyed our entrees at a round table. Their hot tea was quite enjoyable while we were waiting for the food. DONBURI: TUNA, YELLOWTAIL AND SALMON (9 PC) - 36.50 Not a cheap price and definitely more of a splurge for a regular weekday dinner. This came with a side of miso soup which was pretty standard. The donburi bowl was well presented, with each piece of fish spreading neatly across the bowl in a pinwheel shaped, topped with some garnish, lemons, ginger and wasabi. Each piece of sashimi was pretty thick and they give you a good amount of sushi rice that's been topped with some nori and small slivers of ginger. The sashimi quality was fantastic. I enjoyed the yellowtail a lot. The salmon and tuna were good, too! Overall, this was filling and tasty. I would recommend it if you are down to splurge. A couple of my friends got the beef sukiyaki which looked really good. I may have to try that next time!

Great local Japanese restaurant overall. My go-to lunch place. Finding a parking space could be challenging sometimes.

The food is always good and service is prompt but the hostess wasextremely rude and didn't even pay attention to us for 15 minutes while we were standing there. Although our reservation was madeahead of time she didn't even bother to ask my name and the reservation time. Her manner ruined our evening although the foodwas good. We are not going to go back there again.

It's a family member's birthday celebration, and thanks to our reservation, we avoided the wait during the busy Sunday evening dinner rush. The food and sakes were excellent, with attentive and good service. We ordered dinner boxes 1 and 2, along with the sushi premium, and the desserts were delightfully delicious. Highly recommended!

It's been years since we ate here. I'm not sure why a line forms just prior to opening. Seating was quick. Tea is served at no charge. Our lunch meals came with complimentary soup. It wasn't hot. I'm gonna assume they have these cups ready to serve. I always order katsu at Japanese places. Their pork was a Berkshire Loin. It was definitely a good size portion but there was a lot of fat and grizzle. I'm sure others might appreciate it but it was too fatty for me. Staff was busy and barely came out. I get that it's an institution in McLean.
