Very loud. Website says “best seafood in Richmond.” Calamari was ok but the simple steamed lobster - for which we drove 46 min - was poor. It was old and chewy. Claws were shriveled. Apologies were made and our bill adjusted but the experience was most disappointing.
Some food was good but scallop and shrimp were overcooked. Sesame tuna was cooked perfectly but the sauce was not zippy and rice was not sticky. Cocktails and mocktails were good. Fries, ribs and lobster roll were good. Uneven results.
Have been to the Hard Shell several times. The food and experience has always been outstanding. Not sure what happened this time. The Mahi was rubbery and our other dish was good, but not like in the past. Our appetizers were good. Very disappointing as we high expectations based on past experiences.
