We went here for an early dinner, was fantastic! Food was fresh and the staff was friendly. My only complaint is that they are not open for lunch. We have been told that this place is wonderful and we were not disappointed. We drove an hour to the restaurant. We definitely will be returning!
Port Arthur is a well known Newport News institution that dates back at least 50 years (!) We ordered General Tso's and Kung Pao chicken for dinner and tried the accompanying egg drop and hot and sour soups. Their style is definitely Chinese American but it was flavorful and well presented. Dine-in crowd grew significantly after 5PM. Our server Jenny was a character! Highly recommended.
Really old building but the food is prepared fresh. Most of the usual suspects when it comes to a Chinese restaurant. The waitresses are older but very good and lots of personality, ask for Jenny, she's the best!
